How many times have I heard on here that we are not a too club? That we are a mid-table team? Relegation battle?
GON was just expressing how good he thinks Chuna is, and he should easily get in to any team that is playing regular champions League football.
We all seem a little narky on here at the moment.
Stay positive, 3 weeks left of transfer window, some good signings brought in, and some excellent deals done in selling our players.

I’m confused. Thought we sorted out FFP last year? Thought Shi said money was no object? Evidently we didn’t need to sell players? Thought you got 150 mil by being in the prem? Why then have we sold Neto who didn’t want to leave and have we not invested in better players to push for a top 6 place? Is anyone else as confused as me? Or are Fosun and Shi just big fat liers!…

I think we scraped through FFP last year, as it's a rolling 3 year period (look at Everton being caught out 2 years in a row) for the mid table teams I don't believe it can ever be 'sorted' without a constant conveyerbelt of sales/purchsses. Yes, we are in a better position financially than we were at the start of last season but if we need to strengthen the team even more we will always need to sell.

In reply to WO, In my opinion FOSUN have no aspirations just £££ signs.
I think it is unlikely that GON actually meant the way his statement has been interpreted it was just badly phrased. I’m sure that he, his coaching staff and players aspire to greater achievements.
However in order to fulfil that belief he requires the financial support and investment within the FFP framework to succeed.
This will be virtually impossible whist selling our best players and replacing them by shopping in the “bargain basement”.

Sheeny12. The last published accounts are awful. The value of the company is negative (cowboy legs around the shareholders funds).Can't remember cash but it was a huge overdraft. It will take many years to fix those finances. I think money in just means we owe less. Any spend has to be considered against the cost of finance.

VON is right we are far from a top club, if we were he wouldn't have got the job, we would have got a top manager. It seems we are just happy to survive, which is going to be difficult this season owing to off loading our better players. Any club that sells a top player have someone lined up as a replacement. Not us, we hope to get someone on the cheap.
