Is it just me or is anyone else finding the players being mentioned to be a bit odd?! Most are top players but most are either strikers or wingers, for me (since Fabio) those two positions are about the only place we don't need numbers?! I would expect to be seeing cm's and rb/ cb's cause that's what we need most but none are being mentioned? Who knows, still a LONG way to go in this window! 🐺.

I thought the same bullys. Like you, I’m sure, I am impressed with the incoming players so far but I too thought that a ball carrying cm and further wing backs / centre backs would have been our immediate area of concern. Like you say. Long way to go and they do keep surprising me and pulling rabbits out of hats 👍.

My very first post on here said we needed LWB, CB, eventual replacement for Moutinho and immediate part time back up for Jimenez
you could argue the 3 guys we have acquired do all of those things.
Silva is hopefully more than back up for Jimenez but certainly makes us less reliant on him. The latest chap Vitor is the creative midfielder, ( if he is as good as Santi Carzola that will be a bonus), that can be eased in over the next year or so as Moutinho is eventually eased out and the other chap is meant to be able to cover both left sided defensive positions.
However due to the disposal of Doherty we now need a new RB - surely we aren't going to play Traore there. Not only does it waste his attacking talents - massive by the way - but he is also not a very good defender!

I could see him going out on loan to the Champ cause that's a pretty awful injury and coming straight into the Prem from that would be a big ask for anyone! Not sure we'd sell him yet mind cause it would be at a loss and they clearly rate him 👍.
