Without going over old ground, as we all know the fundamental problem, it does appear that VP may just be out of his depth. After a promising start last season and a new contract, just like GON, we seem to be all at sea again. Ok, maybe no match winners in this squad but on paper it should be a half decent side at least.

It does seem that tactics and substitutions are costing us points which after acknowledging the mistakes in the Spurs game it appears they were repeated today. So far it's cost us 4 points in the last 2 games that would have seen us not just off the bottom but out of the relegation zone.

Jeff likes VP but we know that doesn't count for much where Premier League survival is concerned but as they've acknowledged they kept GON too long and they won't make that mistake again. I would suggest, therefore, if things haven't improved within a month then VP could be under pressure, or worse. The results towards the end of last season and those so far this do not make great reading but as some are commenting, who would we get, would Fosun really 'go for it' with a top name or another bargain basement appointment?

They chased Lopetegui for years but then failed to fully back him fully so will they stick with VP or make a change linked to a big spend in January or will it be just more poor judgement, kick and hope. I can't see Jeff carrying the can for a relegation so logic dictates that if VP does go for whatever reason Jeff's only hope would be to employ a top name and back him otherwise Fosun will lose £100M's and he'll be gone. Happy days, again!

Did anyone expect us to get anything from spurs and Brighton? Spurs away is always tough especially as they are doing well this season. And Brighton as some posted are a bogey team and most expected them to hammer us again. I’m not saying I agree with the subs and some of the calls made by VP but tbf I’m sure most would have taken a point before both games. We are improving every game and I still think patients is needed. Yes the next few games are big but I expect to see more improvement and hopefully not repeating mistakes made over the last two games.

I have to concede Goatmark1 that, since the dust has settled and my anger and frustration has calmed, I agree. I wasn’t expecting anything from the Spurs game (rather a 4/5 goal thrashing!) and maybe hoped for a draw against Brighton. So in reality we’re 1 point up!
We had many chances that, on a clear day, we would have won both games.
I’m sorry but even though I like Hwang he’s listening his spirit. I did see flashes of the old Agbadou yesterday, so that was reassuring.
I didn’t see any passion or want to win the game though and that needs to be there until the final whistle. I’d hate for us to go down but in the words of the great Beverley Knight: ‘Shoulda, Woulda, Coulda’ seems to be our season’s motto.

When/If we get relegated LMW I honestly fear the worst. Fosun will sell our better assets and then go into admin to avoid paying their debts. A points deduction then relegation into EFL1. New owners and we start the cycle over again. I've tried to support our owners as much as possible, but they should sell up now and hope we get new owners who want to invest and run us as a professional foot all club.

Goat and Bos - interesting posts.
Although Wolves record versus Spurs is actually pretty good, won 5 and drawn 2 of the last 8, they have been playing well this year and the record against Brighton is amazingly bad right back to the 70s!
Consequently like you I didn't have high hopes.
However whilst Wolves may, as Bos states, be up on those 2 games it sadly has to be put into the context of the preceding 5 games where the club is sharply, at least 6 points, down. Wolves, (or any serious Premier League side), have to expect to beat lower table teams, as Leeds and Everton are anticipated to be, at home!
However I don't see Shi making changes anytime soon- despite the comment re GON's retention - as it would be far too embarrassing to sack another manager just after giving them a long term contract, (as well hugely expensive!).
Thus Vitor will almost certainly preside over the next 3. These are games where points have to be won. For me 5 at the least but reality 6, 7 or even 9 might be required.
Long whilst I don't dispute that Vitor has under performed - indeed I would have expected him to have been removed several weeks ago- the elephant in the room is that the squad is simply not very good.
You hint at this with the "no match winners" comment but with JSL "off colour", Emmanuel looking v sickly and Arias and Krejci still unpacking their suitcases, the squad probably only has 2 players who are currently established top half of the table Prem league quality players!
Whilst one has to hope that the new players can develop and that some of last season's stars can rediscover their form I fear that 17th was only ever the aim and Jeff may have badly misjudged how well some of the other putative relegation candidates performed in the summer transfer market.

Nobody expected us to get anything from spurs and Brighton but we had 2 wins in the bag with minutes remaining. Spurs was suicide cus that game was won. Brighton was won if we'd trusted the 11 starters and took hwang off for tolu. And that's as simple as it is but vp made mind boggling subs and 2 points instead of 6. seems he's set in his ways is vp and it WILL take us down. David moyes was my choice. Everton went downhill after getting rid of him and they begged him to go back and he's got them hard to beat and a fantastic bit of business by getting grealish on loan. West ham were always safe with him and look at them now and it's sods law that nuno will get them safe. as for us I really don't know what's coming next and I don't think vp does either.

Sorry, my reply should have read ‘Hwang is losing his spirit’ ?
