I dislike Fosun a lot but in all fairness we don't fill our stadium on a regular matchday so there is no point wasting money if it is going to be empty. Instead we could be putting the money into new signings.

Maybe it's Fosun's policies that create that situation FcWolves. Owners do not buy players the club has to do that under PSR with the income it generates. Owners, however, can influence that income by doing the things that fall outside PSR, such as ground expansion. The greater the Club's income the more money available to build a better team, the more people want to go to the game.

When we were first promoted and 'on a roll' a 50K ground was not unreasonable. I think that going straight into Europe put Fosun under pressure as it probably was too early in their commercial thinking. They've seemingly struggled with it ever since.

Maybe the price increase in the tickets to " match clubs in our situation" hasn't helped, iv have had my season ticket for 15 years and with heavy heart have decided to not renew, my self and my 18 year old daughter in the northbank is nearly £1, 500 (£162 a month for 9months) I just can't justify that with the cost of living

Serious question longmynd because I don't know, when and who paid for the northbank/stan cullis development? And wasn't the plan to proceed around to the Steve bull and eventually southbank? Didn't everything get put on hold because of covid and our defeat in the Euro v Saville.
We know how things have gone on from then.
We were becoming capable of being a top flight force, with top players being watched by the 50000 who'd pay.
It's pointless developing the ground now to be half full in the championship again maybe?

Rubbish. According to Shi and Fosun they were going to compete for the Premier league and wanted Champions league. Then the lies started. Players and management began to leave to be replaced by inadequacy. Other clubs through legality and illegality became more ambitious.
That's just a few reasons as to why there are empty seats and no longer any justification for a bigger stadium

Steve Morgan had the North Bank rebuilt Abbey at a time before ffp if my memory serves me right. I presume Morgan paid for it, not the Club, as he was heavily criticised for spending on the ground not the team, as we got relegated.

When he sold the club he said he would find a decent buyer and he just wanted his money back. He honoured both and like many Midlands clubs sold to the Chinese. Initially, they were great owners but I think the Chinese Government putting the brakes on spending on European football hit them harder than they cared to admit.

As for more recent times I think QS summed it up nicely.

Long, in fairness Sreve Morgan had a background in property development, he may have been more comfortable investing in the stadium than the team, he didn't seem really knowledgeable about the game to me.

Thanks longmynd, I couldn't think how recent it was or if fosun had initiated any of it.

That's a given Arddunby he owned a large building company, so I suppose him wanting to develop the Molineux was understandable. For me, his main issue was that he was a millionaire not a billionaire which, imo, you need to develop a Premier League club these days.

What Fosun have done Abbey is install Premier spec pitch's at both the Mol and Compton, resurrected the big screens, installed rail seating, extended Compton's facilities, renovated the uncovered corner by the South Bank and I think the had the covered training pitch built (can't actually remember), so they have spent money, just nothing aimed at increasing the ground capacity.
