I believe I criticised GON as much as anyone and for a very good reason, he was no good enough and blamed players.
Now he's gone I wish all the best but we as a club move on. New manager incoming but it's about eight weeks overdue.
Critical couple of fixtures coming up and we need something from them.
January offers the possibility of fresh blood hopefully at CB.
If we are to sell the I don't mind if it's RAN. He has show a lack of professional and petulance this season which is disgraceful.
All the best to the new manager who ever it is.

Haha, where have I heard that before? Oh yes that's right posters said the same about Nuno when he left and Lage for that matter as well, look at them both now! GON may well not be a good manager but we won't know until he's worked at a club which is run properly, he did so at Bournemouth and did remarkably better than most people expected! Iarola is doing better now but it's worth noting here that in his two seasons they have finished the transfer window on - £137m. We on the other hand (over those same last two seasons) have banked £91m in that time!
I'm not saying GON shouldn't have been fired but I am saying that like most managers before him, he was set up to fail! Like I've said many times you get what you pay for in this league and we currently aren't paying Prem prices! ?

I thought Shi/Fosun had stepped away from footballing/transfer matters leaving it to Hobbs/Coach, yeah really. ?

Hi Guys,
I can't believe Shi/Fosun are directly involved in transfer dealings. What I can believe is Fosun/Shi give (gave) a budget to Hobbs/GON to include transfers/wages etc. it's then up to them to balance that budget on new signings. I think we'd probably all agree that non footballing people getting involved in transfers etc is a recipe for disaster. My guess is that Hobbs/GON opted to use the money to buy squad players/youth rather than PL ready 1st teamers. The real problem maybe the size of the budget to achieve exactly what Hobbs and GON wanted.

I get what your saying Black and suspect Gary must have been involved on some level. However, I'm not sure how he could have been a fan of the signing of young (investment) players over Prem experienced players cause (frankly) why would he have been? It only makes his job MUCH harder (as has been proven)! I would also question how involved Gary was on the final say considering he played so few of those players signed?! I mean we've hardly seen any of um bar Johnstone and Larsen, which for me suggests he was none to impressed by the hand dealt!
Eitherway it doesn't really make a difference because if you keep selling your best players and replacing um with kids then its always likely to end badly!
I would say let's hope we've learnt our lesson but we've been making the same mistakes over and over since the day Nuno left so I'm not going to hold my breathe! ?

We'll never know who was responsible for what but so far I think disaster is probably the right word to describe it.
GON did say early in the season that the summer window didn't go as he was told it would so I doubt he had a major say in too much.

I think that whether he had a big say in the transfer policy or not, his inability to see that we had trouble defending set pieces and not addressing that, shows that he wasn't up to the job . Like Russell Martin, he was too reluctant to change the zonal marking and it has cost us dearly . The Everton match was the last straw for me because they are an awful side to watch and don't really have much quality . I think we could also do with a good fitness coach because we seem to run out of steam in the last quarter . Oh well, I'm still going to Leicester on Sunday and I'll be cheering the boys on but this year it really has been more in hope than expectation. Hopefully, Vitor will become the new Nuno . Up the wolves ?
