Joao Gomes only wanted Wolves… and he will become Wolves player, done and confirmed ???????????????? #WWFC

OL tried to hijack the deal but João’s decision was crucial. Fee close to €17m to Flamengo, as per @venecasagrande.

Contract will be valid until June 2028.

Can we get a striker and a creative forward please!
Raul owes us nothing
Costa is past it
Hwang not good enough in 18 monthd
Neto injury prone
Podence not consistent.
Traore consistently poor.
Thats our forwards to keep us up.
Cunha is being played as a striker but he is a winger.

Cunha is not a winger!
We’ve already signed Sarabia as creative forward plus excellent signings on other areas.
Surely no one can knock the business done by the club and if you can name the centre forward currently available then please do.
Well done to the hierarchy, that’s a great January window!

Cunha is a wide forward the way he plays is as a forward he is not a striker.
Same with Guedes he was winger not a wide forward/striker.
I don't have confidence in the forward acquisitions £43 on Cunha could have gone towards Evanlison (Porto), Ramos (Benfica), Ocampos (Sevilla), Brereton Diaz family from Stoke there's loads of options for forwards we haven't explored.
We are trying to prove Hwnag is a good signing so sign Cunha who played with him. Should have signed Minamino aswell RB Leipzig Mark 2.
Cunha played West ham did he have a shot?

Agree Tommo ?

I sure I saw on Wolves rumours feed on my phone Neto looking good in training.
When Neto is back to full match fitness all goes to plan for him it will be like a super star signing.

There's lots to look forward and be positive about where there is constant uptightness being in the bottom end of the league.
For me things will be alright then at some point in time we will be better than alright.
Up the wolves.

Tommo 1970 dawson 32 amd isn't better than kilman totti or collins sarabia is a gamble not prem player imo suits oversea football a second choice keeper cuhna not a prolific goalscorer not going to score loads lemina wasnt that much good last time was in prem abit to slow so yea great transfer window seems like a bery much of a panic transfer window tbh we did very little buisness in the previous seasons and we habe sufferd and had to panic buy very poor recruitment in the last few years . We should of added two quality players each season we didn't the team over achieved and the board thought this team would do for far to long plus over paid for players .

Plus I'm an optimist.
Just feel we haven't rectified our goal scoring problem.
20 months of the forwards we have.
Neto wasn't amazing at the start of the season.
I love Raul, Jonny and Neto amazing players at their peaks but after their injuries they aren't even half the players they were.
Bloody ruthless but true.
I'd take Antonio at the minute we need a striker that can occupy two defenders.

Radio - sorry but that's all absolute cobblers! Dawson is massively better than Totti, he's also got more experience than our entire back line combined! Sarabia is an international player for Spain but you have (arrogantly) assumed despite that and him having previously played for PSG that's he's not good enough to play for us, are you serious?!

Raul wasn't prolific before he came to us but the season before his injury was one of the best strikers in this league! Honestly the arrogance of on or two posters on here assuming they know better than Lope despite the fact he's worked with some of these players before is genuinely hilarious! It wouldn't be so bad but you've not even let the players mentioned so much as kick a ball, two of um haven't even played for us yet! It's almost like it's not actually about the transfers but just an excuse to moan but that can't be it can it?! Hilarious ?

Well lads we all have our opinion. If you listen to the Spanish football experts (Terry Gibson, Graham Hunter) they both say Cunha is a 9 or a 10. I’m sure he could play wide but he left Madrid as Simione played him wide and he was less effective.
How do you know that all those forwards you listed were not considered? I’m certain Lopetegui has more scouting reports and knows about more players than you. Just because you like them doesn’t mean they would be suitable or available!
I like Mbappe, Haaland, Bellingham and De Bryune, why have we not considered these players? Sack the board!

Mad - Cunha is a striker, its that simple! Don't believe me just read ANY article about him and they will describe him as a striker! All this wide man nonsense is just fools that have played one to many footy sims and think they know better than our very experienced manager! It's just too funny, peeps saying he's not a no 9 despite the fact that's the actual number he played in at Madrid! I'm also assuming you didn't actually watch the WHU game then Mad cause he had three shots and a header during the match (3 out of 4 of which were on target)!

Honestly why ANYONE would want to own a footy club is beyond me! We out spend Barcelona and Madrid and still all people do is shout more, more, more before the latest signings have even kicked a ball! Peeps need a reality check, if in 6 months a signing flops then fine say/judge it then. Getting SO sick of everyone just writing peeps off before they've had a chance to even unpack! ?

Absolutely nail on the head with both of your posts,Bullys.Ive been scratching my head wondering if I'm watching the same player in Cunha with all these posters saying he's a winger and mot a number 9.To my eyes, he's an archetypal centre forward and has potential to be the modern Doog. As for Sarabia, I've said it before and will say it again, he has it in him to be the best value for money buy in the modern era (that accolade currently rests with Moutinho in my opinion). To those who say he's too lightweight for the Premier league, have you ever watched Moutinho, Silva (David and Bernardo versions),Modric (superb at Spurs and still one of the world's best midfielders at 37)?

You are joking with your comments about Ramos aren't you, Madman? He plays for Benfica (in the champions league final stages if you hadn't noticed). He's definitely going to swap that for a relegation battle isn't he? With his world cup performances skyrocketing his value, I'd say £40 odd million is well wide of the mark anyway. If he goes anywhere in the summer it will be to another champions league club. As for Brereton Diaz, I've watched several Blackburn games this season and have been singularly unimpressed .Ocampos, you mention too and I think he's yesterday's man. Excellent against us 3 years ago but now? Surely Lopetegui knows him better than anyone.

Still not convinced Cunha is a no 9 I'll eat my pants if scores 10 goals.
Ramos was used as the type of forward we need similar to Jota to link midfield and attack.
Cunha and Sarabia could be that player no doubt but I'm not convinced right now.
Still looking at those forwards thinking have they got 12 goals between them. Let alone Cunha scoring 10.
We need 15 goals to stay up through the whole squad.
I don't think we have a chance of that at the minute.
Keeping everything crossed we stay up.

Would you like answer my question about Ramos in the post above,Madman?

14.) 27 Jan 2023
27 Jan 2023 19:08:33
Mad-thing is fella we don't need to be convinced, only one man does and at £43m I think it's fair to say Lope is convinced. That's also a give away, why would we spend £43m on ANOTHER wide player whilst desperately trying to get rid of a £27m who has flopped?
I would also just say that I wasn't convinced Coady could play CB or that we should have spent £30m on Raúl at the time, I was definetly wrong and the man paid to make those decisions was right. What baffles me is why some fans seem SO certain they know these players attributes better than the man that asked to bring them to the club?! A manager that has played agaisnt him numerous times before going for him no less! And it wasn't just Lope, as he's said in the E and S both he and Hobbs had Cunha and Sarabia at the top of their own lists! But what do they know, its only what they are paid for! Old is also right, we were never getting Ramos after the WC he's just had, maybe last summer but not now I'm afraid. As for Evanilson no chance, he's been tied with some massive clubs and is a goal machine! Cunha will score goals, as will Sarabia like I said let them get unpacked before trying to judge um eh! ?

So Cunha is a wide forward and not a striker so a bit similar to Mo Salah and Marcus Rashford then.
Lets hope so.?

27 Jan 2023 20:18:02
Absolutely right Wolfdad, also like Henry, Neymar hell even Mpbappe looks more comfortable cutting in from outside! Doesn't seem to have stopped any of those from scoring goals does it?! This is exactly the thing, striker can mean MANY ways of playing. We will see the best of Cunha and if not we can all have a moan and judge him at the end of the season. I'm not guaranteeing he'll bang goals in (I haven't seen enough of him yet) but I do think as a team we now have what it takes to find enough to get us out of danger. Just not sure why peeps seem to be judging these lads before they've even laced their boots?! ?

I get it now. People aren't looking for a fast, mobile forward who is good with both feet and can be a menace in the air aswell as press the opposition . They are harking back to the 'good ' old days of Tony Hateley,Ron Davies et al who were as slow as old boats, had a turning circle of an oil tanker but were 'proper' number nines.

I think this has been a really good transfer window- icing on the cake for me would of been Antonio for his high press and what I think JLo has seen in him - despite not being in form this season he has a good work rate and causes defender’s problems and for three seasons prior he has scored about 10 goal each time so we know he has it in him. Other than that Wan-Bissaka would of been the cherry on top to give us a more defensive RB and add some competition for semedo if we didn’t sell him. I’ll keep my fingers crossed but I’m happy with what we have done regardless.
