According to transfer insider @clossp on Twitter (who correctly predicted the Nunes transfer) the current striker situation is:

Lorient want obligation to buy. We have offered £22m with option but they want the guarantee. Still working on it bit other deals in pipeline

We are looking at a few homegrown strikers as a back up too."

"New info: I've heard we're talking to Porto about Evanilson. This is THE big one. It's complicated because at least 2 other clubs have stake/clause in sale. Expect to drag into next week if we can get it done. Big IF."

Evanilson Man Utd had a £56 million bid refused can’t see us breaking our transfer record again on this one but having said that it would be nice to see fosun competing on these kind of big fish deals…. I like the look of Ramos from Benfica with the Gibbs White money but I can see Benfica qualifying for CL and Ramos wanting to stay until the January window only problem there is if he scores a rut of goals in Europe and then domestically his price will ramp up

Realistally Ramos and Hwang are the deals that are going to be done.
Personally would like Ramos and Araujo from Benfica maybe with Alhmeida.
I would sell Podence and Traore to broker these deals.
I can't see Cunha and Evanlison deal being done. Cunha makes sense with his links with Leizig although man u were linked with both.
After Nunes any deal is possible proper game changer.

I think the Portuguese influence in the squad and the signing of both guedes and nunes will be a massive pull for us to get these highly talented players. With Jorge mendes and obviously Bruno Lage's impact in being able to convince them to join wolves I can see the transfer record being broken again. With Ramos looking more and more likely, we will see how likely tomorrow night if he's picked to play for benfica.

According to some Christopher Benfica have said Ramos will play in their Champions League fixtures before they will consider selling him. Some have even implied a deal is already in place ready to happen once those matches are complete.
Upon reflection the intriguing one is the Evanilson rumour, if Fosun are in the mood to spend, especially as they have got half of his potential fee back from the MGW sale, which allegedly they didn't need to do.

Traore has been badly played since wev had him.he would be playing for free kicks right down the middle leading to no end of goals for another team.but not us!and I definitely won't be backing portugal2win anything soon because with our lot in the team?
