Have been watching our team for 60 years, and we've had a netful of quality goalies, of which Jose Sa is one of best! Can't understand the consistent dislike of him, would give the lad a 5 year contract! FWAW .

Totally agree preston he's saved us on many an occasion.

And let us down on many more. He's a very good shot stopper. Less so on crosses, his desicion making and positioning is dubious and his distribution is usually poor (finding touch or a player that has no time on a regular basis) and catastrophic at times. He's average at best.

Me too. One of the best shot stoppers in the Premier League.

He makes mistakes from time to time, he's abit maverick on occasions but I personally like him, a great stopper and on of our best.

East you say average at best but tell me this, who have we had that's actually been better than him? Other than Particio of course, cause I can't think of a single better keeper we've had? Could he be better, of course but then so could every keeper! Times even caught up with Ederson recently and that guys class! The question isn't as simple as do you rate him, it's more could we get better?! We thought so with Johnstone and (as I said at the time) he's no better!

Wayne Hennassey, Matt Murray, Mickey Stowell, and way back even Phil Parkes gave me more confidence than Sa. Last season I'd put him as one of the worst 3 or 4 first choice keepers in the Prem. The Leicester and Ipswich keepers being the only 2 that spring to mind as being more dodgy.

Haha, brilliant! Of those ONLY Parkes even competed at a similar level to Sa! Matt Murray I grant you may have been better but with just 1 app in the Prem due to injuries we can never really know with him! Wayne Hennesey was terrified of crosses and proved as much on MANY occasions! Waybe Hennesey on average let in 1.69 goals a game in the Prem, Sa is currently on 1.48 so better how exactly? I can't even work averages out for your other examples as they didn't even compete at the same level as Sa but somehow you've just decides they were better, OK then?! As I've said before to many 'stats' on this page just come back to a poster saying 'I feel it in me bones'! Of all those listed every one of um (bar possibly Parkes) was EVERY bit as prone to the same mistakes Sa makes. Stowells distribution was shocking, we just got away with it cause keepers only ever hoofed the ball long back then! ?

Yeah of course Hennessey didn't play at the same level. Only 187 premier league appearances and 109 internationals. Or does it only count in a Wolves shirt? I'll stick by my opinion that Sa is a liability.

Regrettably Bullysboy the generation who watched the great Bert Williams have mostly passed on so no comparisons can be made.

Yes Hennessey played at a similar level, but as I've already proven to you (with a little old thing called stats) he averaged letting in more goals a game than Sa does so what exactly are you basing it on that he was better?! Also let's be realistic here if Sa was Welsh he'd be first name on the team sheet! The very fact that Sa gets into a national squad with FAR better keeper options proves just how much better than Hennessey that he actually is! Might also be worth noting that Wayne couldn't get out of the City fast enough, good riddance he was an absolute man child and a bang average goal keeper! Haha, if Wayne Hennessey is the best you can offer East then you've pretty much made my point for me! ?
Agreed on the Bert Williams Vintage, although if he played for us East would still say he's one of the worst in the league! He'd offer no evidence to support it but he'd still say it! ???
