Wolves are said to be one of 5 teams interested in signing former championship player of the year Patrick Bamford. Wolves need to sign some home grown talent proven at this level to compliment the talented Portuguese youngsters.

Bamford looks a good shout. We need players who have done it in the championship, as well as up and coming young Portuguese players.

Too cheap? He is proven at championship level and that is what we need. He was player of the season in this division a couple of years ago!

Bramford, Pritchard and a sprinkling of international players would do for me, Sako's the past and never worked hard enough!

sbrek - just makes me laugh as I read so many comments on here about all these players we need/ want. but I just think we need to mix the fancy players from europe with some good british players that know this level like bamford

Either way will be an interesting season!

Walsallwolves I agree mate some of the comments I read make me facepalm especially when just because we've got money I'm seeing everyone saying we aren't being ambitious enough whenever a young English player is mentioned.

Never ending story I totally agree both would be great signings along with some of the foreign youngsters we've been linked with and I'd say a solid English defender or two or even just defenders that have cut it in this league and it could be a perfect mix.

yea lots of face palm moments to be honest! I think its a fine line between ambitious and realistic!

Big centre half with championship experience would be good! Plus we all know we need a striker so hopefully Bamford would fit the mould and with dicko coming back and the wingers and midfielders we are being linked with I think attacking wise we should be really exciting!

I'm sick of everyone going on about Pritchard and Bamford. I don't actually think either are great and it's not just me that thinks that, do your research at their current clubs and you'll see what I mean. Anyone English is a no with Shi, in case you hadn't noticed.

McCormack is available right this second at £12 million. He might be nearly 30, but is a nailed on goalscorer. Middlesborough would also take £15 million for Rhodes but the real problem is Shi doesn't want old English league players, only future Premiership stars so it's a waste of time mentioning them.

Forget Liverpool. Anderson Talisca is now reportedly joining Wolverhampton for a club record fee.
According to Wednesday’s edition of A Bola, Wolves are paying €25m for the midfielder, who’s leaving Benfica after two seasons with the Portuguese side.
Now the club are expected to ask the FA for a work permit on Thursday. As he doesn’t have enough appearances for the Brazilian national team, Wolves’ basis for the request would be the value of the transfer and wages, plus his games for Benfica in the Champions League and the Portuguese league.
Talisca was heavily linked to Liverpool in the past few weeks, with the same newspaper claiming that a deal with the Reds was agreed as well. The only problem for this move would be the work permit.
We’ve always said that there was something strange with this transfer, since Liverpool were very unlikely to pay that amount for such an unproved player, and the claims around a Championship work permit being easier are simply nonsense.
A Bola’s article today doesn’t even mention Liverpool, as if they hadn’t previously said he’s going there.

First post here guys but have been an avid reader over the past 5/ 6 weeks!

Trying to stay grounded a bit but can't help but get excited by these players we are getting linked too, looks like our new man Jeff is really looking to splash the cash. I can only hope that we have a good mix of foreign players, up and coming English talent and players from our own academy.

What a time to be a wolves fan!
