That's one hell of a profit though Debs on Mir.
Balancing the books prior to next summer is a must under current FFP rules so I think that you are right and it does help free up funds. The wages of both players would also be taken into consideration also.

The profit on Mir, for accounting purposes, is even higher. Because of amortisation the book value of the player would be written down over a period of years. This helps even more with FFP.
