Seems abit of a waste of a place if we sign another cb.
As Doc and Lima can fill this position. But we would have more pace at CB with Agbadou, Renan and Toti for example. I probably would play Lima as Vitor likes the wing backs to get forward and Lima seems like the sort of player that can take Doc's mantle. And build a relationship with Gomes, Andre, Lopes and Larsen.
I think we will sign two cb's and a left back. But even Agbadou could fill in at right back if we had other could cb's brought in.
The decision is Vitors whether Lima, Bueno and R Gomes are ready to make the step up.
But its the forwards that are the most concerning as we could have Hwang, Guedes, Cunha, Sarabia and F Silva leave in the same window.
When you type it like that GON had some squad at his disposal last summer just didn't work out. Also interesting in the Guardian GON preferred a back 4 explains a lot of issues we had in the early games last season.

KWP can play both on left and right, so to say he would be a waste of a squad number is not really right, he will fill the role quite well to replace Semedo, and he's on a free, be a good bit of business for an experienced player

It is though Doc played same number of games and scored more goals. KWP Not exactly great numbers with Southampton.
A step up would be Acuna from Athletico Madrid that's an improvement and Lino at LWB if we got both for £20m that would be a great deal and Fabio Silva as a sweetner maybe. That moves a big earner off the wage bill and gets two astute experienced players that have a fair few years in them left.

How many homegrown players do we need to have in squad? this is where KWP is a bonus, as for goals v games, DOC would have struggled in the Southampton team of last season, their roles on the pitch were different also, so not sure its a fair comparison.

I belive we need 8 of them in the Prem, pretty sure though that Doc does not qualify as one (due to signing him after his 18 birthday) but may be wrong ?
{Ed001's Note - you don't actually need to have any, but you can only have up to 17 non-homegrown players in your 25 man squad, over the age of 21. Under 21 year olds do not need to be included in the squad, so don't affect it.
There are two variants of it as well, depending on if you are in European competition or just the Prem. The Prem rules mean you have those 8 slots that can only be taken by homegrown players, which is players that have spent 3 years in the same association (ie English in Wolves case). That can be at Arsenal, Newcastle, Stockport County, Newport County even, just so long as they are under the umbrella of the English FA.
UEFA has a slightly different rule, with there being 4 spots for homegrown players and 4 reserved for club trained players. So they have to have been at the club's youth set up.}
