Why not put a loan bid in for sancho? Valued around 40m and is a quality player. Yes some will say wages but we could offer to pay some if United covered some of them. Look at kalvin Phillips going off to Ipswich. He won’t be playing in Europe so why can’t we attract players who never play or are exiled into the u21’s. Surely he would like to play and would be one of the main players in our squad to show point his quality.

Unfortunately Sancho doesn't play at CB.

Your comparing chalk and cheese there I'm afraid Vab! Kalvin Philips going to Ipswich has come off the back of one of the worst loan spells I've ever seen, he was truly useless at WHU (own goal on his debut didn't help)! In fact his loan at WHU was SO poor many were saying he would have to go to the Champ and I think he's been lucky to get the Ipswich move!
Jadon Sancho on the other hand is working off the back of a very successful loan at Dortmund where he played a leading role in getting them to a Champs league final! The reality is both players are in VERY different places regarding options. Add to that the fees will also be different, I suspect City were just desperate to keep Philips in the Prem (to try and protect his value) so will be pretty generous on costs. United on the other hand have a player PSG were tied with so they will no doubt want a king's ransom to take him on loan! I don't think the club should or would pay huge loan fees for a player that is unlikely to stay anyway, it just wouldn't make good financial sense in the current climate.
