A back 4 may work in training against less than mediocre players but in reality will never work against top premiership opponents.
We simply do not have the quality players to play that formation.
Desperately need TWO centre backs.

A back 4 also needs full backs and midfielders that can do their job and don't go awol.

AN cannot defend as a full back but no other option now in that position
Unfortunately Lemina was having to cover in defence due to the abject performance of the back line as well as playing in midfield and was exhausted after an hour.

You can't play a back four in the Prem with two wing-backs.
If we persist with RAN as a left back we lose his attacking abilities or are wide open on our left (or both as we were on Sunday).

This transfer window feels very similar to the last few. Lots of huffing and puffing but in the end things don't go out way. We have quality but we are paper thin in terms of numbers in every area other than midfield.
If we continue as we finished last season then we should be very concerned. The only hope I can think of is the relationship that looks to be forming between Cunha and Larsen and we play 5 at the back.
