1877 - would generally agree with your comment about the importance of pace, but having said that Mo Camara was probably the fastest player I've seen at the Mol!

How good is Cancelo - has anyone seen him play regularly, I've not seen him at all apart from odd clips. He's got 6 caps for Portugal but not in the WC squad, which means he's behind Soares of Southampton, who I do not rate too highly.

I must confess that I am somewhat confused about the transfer window dates. I have just been on the FIFA website which lists individual transfer windows for all countries. A number of European countries are given as 8th / 9th June, but Germany, Italy, Spain and Portugal are all given as 1st / 2nd July. Can anyone provide a source which clarifies or gives a definitive answer?

Thanks Jas - Yes I can see Alf is in the squad on the FIFA site. He's not in the squad on the BBC World Cup site but that only lists 22 players - so I suspect it may be their error.

On a slightly different thread, can anyone work out where we are going to find 8 'home grown' players, over 21 yrs, for our 25 man premier league squad. I can work out Norris, Ruddy, Coady, Batth, Bennett, Hause. Not sure if Doc fits the criteria, also is Bright over 21 - if so he may meet the regulations.
I wonder whether this is one of the reasons we still have the likes of Iorfa, EEL, Graham and Mason are still around!

Am also concerned about the lack of apparent activity.

I am particularly concerned that the fact that our transfer window closes 3 weeks before it does in other major European leagues may impact on our ability to push through deals at a late stage when a selling club in Europe won't be feeling the same pressure as most of their market place will be remaining open.

OK let me look into my crystal ball - next game against the baggies.
Yes - there it is - 11th January 2024 at the Mol. Means they must have been promoted back to the Prem in 2023!
Ah no - its clearer now - my mistake - it's a cup game - Wolves have been drawn against the last remaining non-league side left in the competition!

However as far as I can see he's Brazilian - hasn't got dual nationality, so work permit may be a problem as he's only been capped at under 17 level.

Abraham I'd certainly agree with if we can get him. Danny Ings is still out with a serious knee injury. It's not certain whether he'll be back for pre-season. I think we have enough players coming back from similar injuries so I don't think Ings would be a good move at this point.
