No surprise there Nigel.

On a different tack Goodison News are reporting that Everton are over £1 Billion in debt, if you include the costs of getting the new ground finished, money which will also have to be borrowed.

I know that many clubs run up debt and some aspects of clubs finances fall outside of ffp controls, but for a club that size that's a lot of debt. It makes you wonder what the thinking, or lack of, is behind this situation. I know our owners debts are eye watering (too big to fail springs to mind) but as a club I would suppose our borrowings are sustainable and we should now sit more comfortably in relation to ffp.

So I guess when fans moan about the lack of spending in any given window, they should be careful what they wish for.

Thing is Long that with both ourselves and Everton the real issue isn't how much ya spend it's how well you spend it! For example it's been noted how through the magic of transfer business we've been able to bank over £100m this summer. For context here we have historically spent over £100m just on the acquisitions of Fabio Silva, Guedes and Podence! Was that money well spent?! Are those players now worth more than the players we lost this summer?! Are they heck! There's a common misconception that Fosun haven't invested enough when they absolutely have. The problem is they have invested large chunks of it VERY badly!

That's fair comment Bully's but in our case I suppose it was inevitable given Shi's reliance on Mendes when it came to getting players in. Yes, some worked out no doubt, but some as you suggest appear not only overpriced but just not suitable for this league.

It appears that given Matt Hobbs new role he now seems to making the football decisions with Jeff sticking to the number crunching these days, a much healthier scenario all round. But I totally agree Fosun have spent and big, over the years.

There has been lots of reply but as usual the Ed’s don’t post it kind of a banter site is this. If you can’t post freely. You dingles were very lucky how that wasn’t a pen on Watkins in the end is beyond me

{Ed001's Note - you posted abuse, just grow up and act like an adult and you will be fine. Carry on being a tit and you will be banned. Your choice.}

We have a much better home support than villa my basis my years of being a football fan and my on the level sound as a pound villa season ticket holder work colleague.
He tells me the villa home crowd always quick to get on the players back if not going right and/or very quiet.
Villa away support is just like any other away support.

But football a draw was fair result .
Villa manager set up his team giving us wolves respect from what we done agsisnt mam City.
Yes our manager done the same but O'Neil has only been working with his squad a few months emery has been villa manager since last season and is a very good manager that's got villa off to an excellent points haul thus far.
So the game was set up rightly so by the two managers which made it the game it was.
Interesting to see how it will go in the return fixture at villa park

All clubs have made mistakes in the transfer market. Probably when Jeff made the decisions at Wolves, we made more mistakes than the average club, Fabio Silva being the worst. Brighton seem to be way above average in this respect. I'm looking forward to us going into the January transfer window from a position of strength in mid-table, with Matt Hobbs making the decisions.

Correct Phil, I saw some figures about home support of the prem teams, basically the percentage of paying fans that live within 10 miles, Wolves were 3rd, only Newcastle and Bournemouth have a higher percentage of local fans that support them.
