Hi all, new here.

Great result against City but we need to follow it up now with some consistency.

Does anyone know why Neto wasn't awarded an assist for the first goal? As far as I'm aware, own goals still qualify for assists but maybe I'm missing something.

Welcome to the pack Lupil, can't answer the assist question I'm afraid, most probably deemed that it wasn't a direct effort on goal or pass to scorer, I dunno but I'm sure one of our better informed posters will explain. Your spot on we need to follow that performance with similar levels of effort and concentration and when better to do it that Sunday? Beating the vile and deflating their current bubble would be the biggest confidence boost all round.

If own goal scorer had not touched ball would it have gone in. I think that is the reason.

Welcome to the site Lupii. Personally, I'd prefer him to be credited with the goal, especially as it really was a solo effort.

I'm picking up what you're putting down, Pete. but surely the same could be said for a regular goal? If the scorer didn't touch the ball, it wouldn't have gone in. That describes most goals.

I recall Hazard getting an assist via a similar own goal many years ago.

I can't help but think that if he were playing for one of the "big" clubs he'd have been given it.but luckily for Salah, he remains top of the chart.
