Anybody else seen wolves apparently will let Adama leave for 10 million?

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Wolves really have no choice, get £10M now or leave it a year and get £0. This is a situation of his making not Wolves, they made him a very good offer to stay. Now he can look forward to playing somewhere like Leeds or Everton until they suss him out and he's back on the bench as a cameo performer.
Everyone bent over backwards to get him his dream move back to Barcelona and as predicted in the end they didn't want him. Get rid and put the money towards a decent striker, someone more reliable.

Adama, MGW don't want to be here so get rid imo.

Agree rated,we can buy better with the money generated by the sale of those two

Given how much Trincao's year with us cost (fee plus wages),keeping him for a year knowing he might be on his bike for nought isn't the stupidest thing to do. He's the ideal bench player after all.U can't be the only one who looks forward to him coming on with biceps all greased up.

If, as rumoured Raphina goes to Barca, there will be a gilt edged vacancy for Adama at Leeds. Take advantage of it, he's not as important as he thinks.

I’m absolutely bamboozled by this.
The dogs in the street knew that Sporting wanted Trinacao so why didn’t we do the swap on offer between Adama and Trincao and then sell Trincao on to Sporting (or sell 50% of his rights as Barcelona have done). Crazy.
That said I’d still keep Adama as I think he’s worth more in our squad this season than we are likely to end up getting for him.

I think we might be doing some business with Everton during this window. However, Not necessarily for a midfielder or forward as is being rumoured at present.
Everton’s biggest problems are related. They didn’t manage to field a settled central defensive two or three and they lacked a leader on the pitch. Coady would sort both those problems for them He has played/trained with a number of their central defenders with England and he is the leader and back line organiser they lacked last year.
Would we sell and would he want to go. I think the answer to both is a reluctant yes. If we move to a back four, his playing time is going to be limited, perhaps to being brought on late in games to shut up shop in a back five. For him, he has to be playing if he wants to go to the World Cup and his best chance to do so, is to be doing a good job as the middleman in a three centre back set up.
Who then would be our leader on and off the pitch?

It's a good point Old Wulf, not the grease arm thing ?, as his wages are really quite low, but £10M is £10M, that could pay the wages of a couple of decent signings for a year or so.

Just get rid of both. Adama is rubbish and MGW still has the jury out on him. Cash in on both while we can.

13 Jul 2022 17:13:05
So you think we should have bought him for 25 million and then sold him to Sporting for 10 million?

13 Jul 2022 19:24:18
The word was ‘swap’ Tim Boy in case you missed the word. We might get £10m for Adama. Barcelona are getting 10m euros for half of Trincao (hence values him at 20m euros). Plus we’ve paid a fee for not signing Trincao which I would have thought could be negotiated away as part of any swap.
Apologies if wrong on this but am still bamboozled at our mis-dealing on Adama and I STILL hope he stays.

He would have been a good bargaining chip in getting Nunes.

Fair point Rated (if he was ever a serious target) but I can’t get my head around how Mendes didn’t put that together for us. He will have had the contacts and information and still stood by whilst we got shafted. It could have been another Benik Afobe situation for Trincao.

The problem appears to be with the player. Adama
It seems that he is hanging on for a “top four club” to come in for him. A case of visions of grandeur?
I fully appreciate that players have a short career and want to maximise their earnings and improve their reputation. Problem here is he doesn’t perform consistently to his obvious ability.
Barcelona saw the problem as he started well but fell off to be left on the bench or even not in the squad. This points to an attitude problem for me.
All players go through peaks and troughs but those who are mentally committed to a club fight to regain their place and the respect of team mates and fans alike. May be a new start is the best for player and club? Maybe a new manager can motivate him once again. We all need new challenges in our lives to keep us on our toes.
