E&S are reproting (on the three loan players)

"The club have options to sign all three of them permanently, for £22million, £20million and £18million respectively, but it is also understood that Wolves are not bound to those fees and have room to negotiate lower prices if they decide to sign any of the three players. "

This is a sum total of 60m pounds, IF what the E&S are saying is true then the new manager will a considerable war chest. Yet Jeff Shi is saying something completely different. Hard to know who to believe.

As usual we have no idea and there might be surprises like before I just hope we have a bigger premier quality squad so we don't limp home at the end of a season without our two best strikers and two of our top wingers

Can't see us signing Willian Jose and the other two are 50/ 50 at best we know Vitinha can perform but like Fabio he looks lightweight as for Ait Nouri I haven't seen enough to convince me but I know he has a good reputation.

Window - agree I can't see us signing Jose no matter what the fee is.
Vitor is a difficult one - he is nearly 22 and has almost zero adult football experience. He, as you say, has alo looked v lightweight when he has been given minutes for us. But he has a stellar reputation in youth football and maybe there is a player there. So perhaps a deal structured with a nominal up front fee and then a series of performance related payments might persuade me to take a punt on him - or perhaps just extend his loan and see if he can grow up?
RAN however in the last few weeks of the season played week in week out and did to be fair look much better than he had earlier on in the season.
If we are committed to 3,4,3 or something of that ilk ie he is used as an LWB not LB then yes i'd take him - obviously not for the silly crica £20m we originally offered but i'd probably be willing to pay low double figures for him.
If we do have £60m available for transfers though that is quite a relief because spent sensibly - unlike last year's debacle- we should be able to get several solid pros for that sort of money.

I think you've probably hit the nail on the head future. Structured deals are the way ahead and I suspect we will see this in a fair few deals over the summer.

Shame they weren't last year as we massively over paid up front for Hoever and Silva. We probably should have had a slightly lower up front on Semedo as well.
Given that Hoever barely played this year and isn't likely to do so in the near future and we have to hope and pray Silva doesn't need to play again this year (because Jimenez is back) that should have meant we would have paid minimal in performance related payments so far and next to nothing next year as well.
This would mean that we still had a large war chest for purchases this season rather than as rumoured a negligible sum.

Thefuture mate Hoever was part of the Jota deal.

Also on the hover point he hasn't had any game time really at Liverpool or here he is young and has lots of promise and I'm confident he will be a big player in 3_4 season's a year on loan to get game time shine bright come back and set the world alight.

I'd probably side towards believing Jeff Shi over the E and S.

Rated and Giants - yes he is 19 so young and yes he had v little experience at Liverpool. Consequently the "value" assigned to him in the Jota deal - and I accept he was part of that deal - should have been modest not the £13m reported.
I'd rather have had the cash and bought a fully formed ready to play Prem League player for that sum rather than a kid who might as Giant says be ready at some point in the future but who might, like most 19 year old prospects, never make it. ps giant it better be sooner than 3 or 4 years before he is a big player or 1) he will be nearly out of contract before he plays for us and 2) he wll be 22/ 23 and somewhat older than the usual age players break through which isn't a strong sign that he is going to be the star that a £13m price for an untried kid would indicate he was going to be.

Hoever was not part of tge Jota deal. It was just announced at the same time.

{Ed001's Note - he was part of the Jota deal. Liverpool used him as the down payment.}

Jas and Ed for me it doesn't really matter the point I was making was that we overpaid up front for Hoever. If he was part of the Jota deal or not we still netted less cash/ Fee (most fees aren't actually paid in cash on the nail - Jota's being a v good example! ) than we should have done. Gather it was £9m plus £4.5m in add on maybe a fairer deal would have been £4.5m with £9m in add ons
If he is good Liverpool still get the same but if he disappears, as most youngsters do, then we have only lost £4.5m not £9m. Sharing the risk and rewards rather than the one sided deal we were, as usual last summer, on the wrong side of!
