Maybe Nuno see's Sanderson as the man to replace Doherty after his good season for Cardiff.
That is what the reserve team is for, to bring player's through. If Doherty wanted to leave then let him go, we would have ended up with a player who wanted to be elsewhere if we didn't have.

I presume Nuno was happy to let him leave or I personally don't think it would have been sanctioned.
Onwards and upwards, I'm sure it won't be long before signings are being welcomed to the golden palace.

Big- what a nice change it is to finally read a sensible and well balanced approach to the Doc transfer! Great post 👍.

BullyBoy I have no objection to him going if that is what he has determined he wants to do and we felt he would be a negative influence on the squad.
Presumably he wanted to go for more money or perhaps European football - who knows?
However what I object to is selling him for what is obviously far less than his true value.
As he would be in the books at zero - after 10 years at the club - all £13.5m ( after 10% payment to Bohemians) will be profit and go to our FFP target. Great!
But in 2018/ 19 - the last accounts available our total profit was just over £21m - i. e. we have given Spurs a discount equivalent to something like an entire years profit!
Given we are tight against FFP - its been discussed till we are blue in the face - surely we can't afford to do that and surely we should be told what is going on and why we are giving Spurs favoured nation status?

Glad someone posted something positive for once, seems there are a few new doomers again.

Future- I actually agree mate as the price was the only part that surprised me. However I fear what we are seeing is the cost of doing business in this (first post the virus) window. Look at Dwight McNiel, Dyche was saying 12 months back they wouldn't even discuss anything under £40m and now being tied with a £15-20m move! I think the crisis has finally given footy a reality check so it all becomes relative. So yes that is about half of what I would have expected for Docs BUT its kind of like buying a house, if the replacement has also plummeted in value by half as well then its just the market rather than the club 👍.

Looks like prices are coming down to Lidl from Waitrose! Not a bad thing tbh.

I really hope you are right - AMN didn't work out that way though. However as you say there haven't been many deals done so far and perhaps prices will come down and we can buy better. Personally I would rather have tied up the replacement and proven your thesis before selling as now we are taking all the risk. But to date - pre Doherty - Nuno and Fosun have a superb record of buying and selling so perhaps I should cut them some slack.
Guess I'm just over excited by the progress we have made and am desperate for more success to balance 50 years + of less than stellar times following the old gold!
SORRY!

Agreed I've been there or following Wolves since the mid 60's through good, thick and thicker! The recent seasons just make you want more particularly during this horrid time. We have to trust them! They always seem to do the deals on the quiet let's hope it continues.

For most of my Wolves supporting life, it has mainly been pessimism surrounding the club. For the first time in those 47 years, I do feel these last 3 years should make us all feel optimistic. All clubs will be going through a harder time at the moment. This story with the current owners/ management/ players, I feel, has a long way to go.

All makes perfect sense.
The way the world has gone us wolves fans should be buzzing for the new season.
We are top dogs in the West Midlands and long may it continue.
We're ahead of villa and West brom 2 seasons in the premier with most of the squad from the first match 2 seasons ago.
All things are a lot better than not.
I think it will take seeing it happen to convince the doubtful.

Fingers crossed.
Really looking forward to the new season but with trepidation.
That said I always watch games with half an eye on my watch ticking off the minutes that we haven't conceded yet! Oh dear!

Not trying to trump anyone but I have supported Wolves for 63 years. Apart from the first few it has been a dismal and depressing time with the odd good bit, but I am patient. The last 3 years have given me belief that we are on the up. There will be more sales of players we have come to love, good luck Doc and thanks for your input, we both move on.

If only games were 85 minutes! I think that's where improvement is needed. Mind who am I to talk often go into a room and wonder why! Concentration at the end. Tough.

Lol Ken.
Brill posts from for me elders.
My dad would of been 80 this month wish he was here to see the last three years. Not saying anyone is 80 but 60 years plus is an elder for me and gives me great pleasure reading all your posts.
Fair play and good will to all wolves young and old.

Lets not get to downbeat, the club has just had probably the best season since 72 73 the years I can first remember. Yes a popular player has moved on, just like Douglas, Cav, Costa and Afobe. Who came in Otto, Neto, Traore and Jimenez. Yes VAR robbed us of champions league football but we still have room to improve our late defending, pressuring teams in posession and breakaways, based on the last 10 games. The best board are at the club in my lifetime with all due respect to Sir Jack but we still can't afford to pay stupid money (thats just financial reality) to attract young players like AMN to the West Mids. He's based near the London bright lights as well which is a big pull for some if that's your kind of thing, its all easier said than done.

Careful Ard, with sound and logical posting like that people might not believe there's a crisis going on at the club! God help us when the club really is in trouble cause one or two on here LOVE a good panic even when there's NOTHING proving the need for one! 🤣.
