Well that's pretty much the worst possible end to the season! The FA should be ashamed of there use of VAR, it's robbed us of Europe but worse its robbed Bournemouth of Prem footy possibly financial stability! Just SO wrong! 😡.

VAR has been nothing but a shambles this season. It cost Wolves (to my knowledge) 5 points (Leicester, Burnley and Liverpool - Leicester and Burnley four points denied winning goals and an equalizer against Liverpool, If I’ve missed any please correct me) .

I was all all for VAR but it’s been a poor show this season. Not just for Wolves.

Reg VAR and this is just from an Everton point of view so can only comment on our games although I will point out 3 decisions that had nothing to do Everton
1 VAR overturned the refs decision to award Brighton a pen a game we were in total control of until that point the FA sent an apology to the club
2 sheff utd their first goal was a foul on Pickford
3 Bournmouth cross comes in wilson is offside ball goes over him and its headed back across and wilson scores a header VAR stated second phase of play
Arsenal we should of had 2 pens
spurs we should of had 2 pens
Man utd 93rd minute VAR disallowed a winning goal as sigs who was on his backside was apparently impeding six foot six de gea
Norwich there's was not a pen we should of had 1 pen and they should of had a man dismissed now I won't count the Bournemouth and sheff utd games as we were well beaten but that's 15 points we have lost now I bet you guys could do a similar list now to the ones that involve other teams Liverpool twice had players who handled in the area which should of been pens they went straight down the other end and scored VAR allowed the goals and stated second phase of play now to Burnley v Palace with palace winning 1-0 they crossed the ball it looked like handball but ref waved play on burnley broke and scored VAR chalked the goal off and pulled the game back for a pen for palace to go 2-0 up why was that not second phase of play my take on it is its used to benefit certain teams over others and its certainly easier to penalise an Everton or a Wolves than a Liverpool chelsea or Man utd.

7 points it's cost us Debs. Some guy tweeted a stat sheet yesterday.

Cheers RKO! makes it even more frustrating. The FA should get all managers (including relegated managers) and review the season in terms of VAR’s performance and how it can be improved. I cannot remember seeing a match where the ref went and looked at a monitor on the sideline (I stand to be corrected on this one) .

27 Jul 2020 14:33:09
Even Macca of all people said the ref should go view the monitor at that penalty Burnley cheated for against us.

Bramley- whilst they are all good examples of VARS many faults the Bournemouth one is the worst for me! Because there was no matter of opinion to be considered or point of view or even context! Sat in their little booth they could CLEARLY see like the REST of the world that a ball had crossed the line and a goal had not been given and STILL they sat there and did nothing?! If you EVER needed a sign that a system was broke well there it is! I'm not against technology in football, BUT I am against rushing it in when there has clearly been no where near enough thought or lessons learnt from previous trials!

Just reading that Bournemouth are looking to sue VAR for loss of earnings after it failed to award Sheff Utd a goal v Villa which was clearly over the line and which resulted in VAR admitting it was wrong. That point which Villa earnt has cost Bournemouth. Goes to prove that VAR is a joke.

28 Jul 2020 15:51:47
Yeah bullysboy ll VAR doesn't work for me do you celebrate do you not celebrate offside by a big toe certain teams getting decisions just because of who they are me I was all for it I'm now totally against it.

28 Jul 2020 17:07:47
I think we should look to sue VAR too for loss of earnings it cost us 4th place.
Hopefully other clubs that VAR have cost a lot will sue too if Bournemouth are succesful it could open a whole can of worms on VAR and the officials who too should be sued imo.

28 Jul 2020 17:13:48
That'll be a searing inditement on VAR if it even makes it to court. The problem will be: if the decision was in Bournemouth's favour then a legal precedent would be made, that would open the flood gates for future cases. I think the PL might just try to buy Bourenmeouth's silence.

28 Jul 2020 21:25:07
You're right Debbie, the PL and FA will do anything to protect the big 6 and the PL brand.

Not sure goalline technology is the same company that operates VAR however VAR operatives ought to have visually checked I would have thought.
