Fosuns ambition is beginning to concern me. We have not really improved our first eleven in two windows now (with maybe only podence coming in this one) We are in a good position still. But I feel Nuno as not been supported well enough. This season was a real opportunity to push and get into the top 4. I don't see it happening but hope i'm proved wrong. Something has seriously changed in Fosuns mentality in their approach to transfers.

You can't expect to continually get players below market value as we have done previously with the likes of moutinho. At some point you have to start thinking big and occasionally pay the big fee a player commands. They seem to think that buying u23 players will get us somewhere. By the time they come good, the likes of Jiminez and Traore will be sold and long gone. can't see them sticking around if their ambition is not matched. You can put Nuno on that list too. Then I see only one thing happening - a slide downward maybe even back to the championship.

Agree0 Disagree0

2 words for you my friend. Have faith.

25 Jan 2020 14:53:28
Siding with Jas on this one. Look at the bigger picture. This squad held together will challenge for the champions league for years to come. And they are only going to get better.

Of course if we lose a Neves or an Adama, then we will have to act. Nothing is broken let's not try fix anything before it needs to be.

I also think the academy is going to be the finest in the prem with what they have coming through.

This Fosun tenure is still in its early stages and very much ahead of schedule.

To be sceltical is normal. Learnt as a fan of the club to enjoy the moment while it lasts. Same with any club I'm afraid.

25 Jan 2020 15:29:30
Vinagre, Kilman, Gibbs-White all youngsters pushing for a place so perhaps the investment in youth does have a purpose.

25 Jan 2020 15:39:47
Wlvs82 - Podence looks to be on his way for 30 Million so I don't know what you're on about saying Fosun aren't backing us. It takes time for fosun to be able to spend millions more than the club makes in revenue at the moment because of FFP. We have to build slowly. Jimenez and Adama going nowhere at the moment for sure they definitely appear to be aligned with Nuno and plans.

25 Jan 2020 15:42:41
Sorry but I totally agree with Wlvs82. There will be a fire sale in the summer with the likes of Jimenez
Traore and probably Nuno gone. This is because Fosun are no longer interested, partly because of the slowing Chinese economy and sweeping virus, but partly because of a total unwillingness to invest. Poor transfer windows, change of policy in redevelopment of Molineux, the sacking of Dalrymple are just some of the factors. You have to look at the whole picture. trouble is on here you get accused of being negative and not a Wolves fan.

25 Jan 2020 15:58:41
SQ - slowing Chinese economy? Fosun are based in Hong Kong, a simple Google of the word conglomerate would clear that up. And some nonsense about a virus? Your Baggies Chinese based owners failed like Villas and Birmingham’s. This is classic projection. You’re top of the championship and currently beating West Ham, be happy.

25 Jan 2020 16:13:05
Not really sure where this lack of investment by Fosun this season comes from. Our net spend since the end of last season is approximately £87 mill. Less what ever we got for personrone. So as a minimum £70 odd mill. Plus what ever we sign in next few days. How is this lack of investment.

25 Jan 2020 17:04:09
Apart from Gibbs-rubbish, I mean white, the youth are improving. Where do you think we're going to sign a multi million pound proven striker in january?

25 Jan 2020 17:05:40
Debb9e . You need to get a life and start looking at things properly. For a start stop accusing me of being a fan of other clubs because I try to see the bigger picture. Try this one for size, there were 52,000 ar St James Park for Newcastle against Oxford. Why? Because their fans know they are about to taken over by a Saudi Arabian royal family linked to the Man City owners. Another club we will fall behind. Fosun won't be able to compete with. Also they maybe in Hongkong but they are Chinese, controlled by Chinese and global markets.

25 Jan 2020 17:12:34
SQ, do you ever read your posts before you press send?
You get accused of negativity because that is all you spout!
Your life must be pretty sad and depressing pal. Try some yoga or meditation buddy, or just sing loudly in the shower - just don't sing The Smiths and stay away from the knife drawer!

25 Jan 2020 17:43:22
Exeter . Still no proper analysis just shots across the bow.

25 Jan 2020 17:54:39
SQ - Fosun are based in Hong Kong and therefore have no ties to the Chinese economy, they’re a conglomerate business which means they have many different business that may or may not be interlinked - which don’t depend on the Chinese economy. What’s this about Newcastle being taken over? That was let summers rumour, to say Wolves can’t compete with some fictitious Sudi or otherwise owners is ridiculous (FFP) . You’re the most negative poster on here, you’re a part of the old brigade - you were probably secretly happy when Jez Moxey was at the helm then you truly had something to bemoan. Either way I’m just going to ignore your negativity - there’s so much to be happy / grateful for regarding Fosun and how Wolves are performing. Take care.

25 Jan 2020 17:55:40
Fosun are based in Shanghai.

Did u not watch the Asia cup?

Come on guys if your going to post on here at least get your facts right.

25 Jan 2020 18:07:30
Not sure if SQ is a WUM or just negative overall now.

25 Jan 2020 17:47:48
Blimey! First time I've seen a virus cited as a reason for an owner's inactivity in the transfer market. Next we'll see the obvious distractions of a love interest being put forward. Get a grip.

25 Jan 2020 19:04:39
Dot Cotton RE: Fosun - Fosun International Limited is a Chinese conglomerate and investment company. Founded in 1992 by Guo Guangchang and four others, the company is headquartered in Shanghai and was incorporated in Hong Kong in 2004. By based I mean they trade from HK. The Shanghai International Football Tournament (SIFT) is has nothing going to do with it, the annual football event in China, organised by the municipal government of Shanghai.

25 Jan 2020 19:04:56
SQ, there were 52k at St James Park because the capacity is 52k. Likewise, at Molineux, the attendance is approx 32k because the stadium holds 32k. The Newcastle board have no intention of expanding St James Park but Fosun are looking to do so at Molineux.

{Ed001's Note - Newcastle are not getting 52k gates, which is why they are offering free half season tickets to those who already have one.}

25 Jan 2020 19:12:12
Last season we had to pay for loan-to-buys.

Look at other teams around us. January is a very tough month and after what happened to Burnley the year before I’d say many top players looked at us and thought we would struggle.

Performance this year mean we are here to stay and all going well will be in Europe for a second season in a row.

Hopefully, with all the luck in the world, we win the Europa or get top 4.

This would make us a CL team. Fosan are investing but also working hard to build our revenue stream so we are self sufficient and don’t need a sugar daddy owner to fund us.

Due to the inconsistency of Utd, Tottenham and Chelsea there is a huge chance of top 4.

25 Jan 2020 19:27:39
Wlvs82 you might want to watch Traores latest interview, he's asked about the clubs tied to him and responds by laughing and saying 'Why would I leave Wolves when I am still improving' there in lies the truth of it. The players we've got will stay provided Nuno does and they can see progress.

I do find it somewhat hilarious and infuriating in equal measure that almost every other fan in this country is blown away by the strides our club has made EXCEPT for a small handful of our OWN fans! Seriously you couldn't make it up, I've said it before sometimes you get the owners you deserve and for those complaining please take a second and ACTUALLY consider how self entitled you are making our club look! No one has a given right to even be in this League (ask Villa) and NO one has the right to expect an easy stroll into the top four!

25 Jan 2020 19:35:11
SQ, did you know that Fosun looked at purchasing AC Milan, Inter Milan as well as PSG. They didn't because these teams are already world renowned and couldn't be grown any further. They chose Wolves because of the potential and their ambition was clear: PL within 5 years and then PL winners within the next 5 years that followed. That is a 10 year plan. Phase 1 came 2 years earlier than expected. The ground expansion plans have not been shelved. Fosun are looking at a number of possibilities but the capacity will be 50k with the next 7 years. Fosun are masters at growing a brand hence why we played in pre season we did, in order to expose us to all corners of the globe. I understand your concerns but you have to understand that we are not on the same level as the likes of Man U, Man City, Liverpool etc just yet as they have a massive worldwide following which brings in extra revenue. This is what Fosun are looking to achieve too. Have faith.

25 Jan 2020 19:35:16
Best part about having SQ is it (somehow;) makes Deb's the voice of reason! Coming out with some top posts these days fella 👍.

25 Jan 2020 19:40:19
Quite right Ed, the reason they are doing the free tickets is because they have registered their lowest Prem gates this season! I can NOT believe that some are even comparing (in any light) Fosun to Ashley's circus! Try that on a Newc Utd page, good luck to ya! 🤣.

26 Jan 2020 11:25:05
rubbishd on this sight yesterday for citing the latest developments at Newcastle. Sky now stating they are in for Alcacer of whom most of you critics were linking with us. Laughable.

26 Jan 2020 11:37:48
Wlves82 I don't know what more you want? We are in our 2nd season in the prem and competing for a top 6 finish along with the knockout stages of europa. Fosuns ambition? They have given us no reason to doubt them and still continually back us. 4 months ago they opened a megastore in China and still are planning to increase our stadium and consistently say they want to be one of the biggest clubs in the world. I think u need to realise this isn't football manager and u can just spend what u want. Teams like Everton and West ham should be miles ahead of us with the amount of time they have been in the prem and how much they have spent over the years but always end up with players on 100k+ a week sitting on the bench who they struggle to get rid of. FFP is a lot more strict in Europe and at the minute our 52m loss in the championship still counts towards it. I think that's why last years prem winners man city struggled to spend in the summer even though they needed to. People want to actually question our transfer dealings and our approaches under fosun.

Patricio - 15m
Dendonker - 12m
Mountinho - 5m
Saiss - 3m
Bennett - free
Ruddy - free
Traore - 18m
Jonny - 18m
Raul - 33m
Neves - 15m
Boly - 10m
Jota - 15m
Neto - 8m
Jordao - 8m
Kilman - 500k

Every player in that list if we sold tommorow we would make money on and the fact we are keeping them every window just shows our ambition as a club. We have players in our squad getting linked with big money moves away and not one player has put a transfer request in or pushed for a move. I think that says a lot of where we are aiming to be. So stop panicking and just finding anything to be negative and cause a problem. The only problem you should have is, how you are going to afford to keep traveling away around europe following wolves. DTM.

26 Jan 2020 12:04:26
SQ, don't believe everything being reported on Sky. Remember these are the very same people would insisted that Eriksen was on the verge of signing for Man Utd but the player himself confirmed that he'd had no contact.

26 Jan 2020 12:31:21
SQ- more nonsense, I think I saw two posters conversationally say that Alcacer might be worth a punt that was it! No one stated ANYWHERE we were even in for him! As he's leaving his current club for regular starts why exactly would we even make an enquiry having just lost someone better who couldn't get in the team (Cutrone) . Add to this they haven't signed him yet BUT even if they do its because the £30m they forked out for a striker in the summer was wasted on what looks like a VERY average player! Whereas our board take there time and get it right, you can keep Alacer mate I'd have Raul over him any day of the week (as would anyone)! Funny thing is fella I kind of hope you are a wum cause I'm not sure even you can believe the complete tripe you spout these days?!

26 Jan 2020 12:39:01
SQ- you need to pick one line of nonsense and stick with it fella! Either Newc are on the verge of being bought out by the richest man in the world or they are about to sign a £30m striker which is it? Cause If you actually new what you were talking about you would know that if they were actually talking to this consortium the first thing any club does is embargo all transfers! Then there's the fact that for most buy outs that embargo will last for most of the sale (probs around a month) . Or are you SERIOUSLY suggesting that Ashley is buying the striker for the club as a leaving present?! This is why peeps assume your a rival fan cause you don't make a point you just stir the pot regardless of how entirely false you (and us) know the info is!

26 Jan 2020 13:45:16
Well said a lot of you guys. It beggars belief that there are so called fans who would question Fosun given where we are now compared to prior to their takeover. Who would prefer a return to those days? We have spent wisely and heavily for a club with low revenue. As revenue builds no doubt the bigger players can be chased, but with FFP we are limited, and given that we have still managed to buy players we could only have dreamed of 4 years ago. Stop whingeing and be very grateful.

26 Jan 2020 14:30:17
Only issue is that it's all IFS buts and maybes . let's see where 1st Feb leaves our squad.

26 Jan 2020 14:51:13
Wolves incoming revenue for 2018/ 19 was £195.5m. Of this £87.75m has been spent buying players. This of course leaves a surplus of £107.75m. Most fans seem to think that this is money that could be spent buying additional players however this is not correct as from this surplus, wages, scouting networks, marketing budgets, travel etc must be taken off. Wages of players equals approx £35m per year. Compare this with Man U who have revenues of £627m and wages of £145m leaving them with £482m to run other departments. Basically what I'm saying is the bigger clubs make around £300m more than us per season so at this stage we cannot compete with them financially. This is where Fosun are looking to improve and make us a powerhouse. This cannot and will not be done overnight. In a few seasons, we will be up there with the big boys.

26 Jan 2020 17:15:59
Laughable, bigger picture SQ you're surely off your head Read what all posters are saying your bigger picture is based on zillion billion to 1 odds of happening.
My biggest fear is for the fans sitting round you at the match (if what you say is true you go to the matches) the poor ones having to listen to your dribble when we go 1 nil down or miss a sitter.
