It seems that the signing of Guedes which is actually quite a coup has barely been mentioned.
So all those constantly banging on about the lack of signings we have just signed one of Europe's best young forwards and so far I've seen it mentioned once on here.
Many would rather use the Coady situation as another opportunity to knock the club instead. All players leave at some point, get over it and try supporting the club a bit more, you might find it more rewarding.

Quite right LM,excellent signing but the doomsayers have nothing to say about it.

I have no idea how to feel comfortable posting views.

The bitching makes it so.

I'll keep my views and opinions to myself until the time I feel comfortable.

I think long, you make excellent points. If we are getting Nico on loan, plus another striker we’re we’ll set. And if the back 4 doesn’t work we’ve got time - or Bruno has - to refine it or recruit another central defender.
Kilman and Collins are young and should do fine.
We just need to keep everyone together.
Also I wonder if we’ll sell MGW and buy Nunes?
Id love to see us bring In Gonçalo Ramos from Benfica too…

The side, squad and club were set up by Nuno to play a preferred way 343/352, at the time it suited many of the players we had and the ones who came in were signed to play that way. The transition to another way of playing was never going to be easy and won't be achieved in one transfer window. Thankfully or not as the case may be we don't have the comfort or luxury of lower league football to allow time to experiment. I think Phil mentioned the word ruthless in another thread, top managers and top clubs are. How many times did Fergie reshape Man U? Paisley ripped apart Liverpools 77 European champions. Favourites like Beckham and Keegan respectively were let go when the time was right. Yes it's all a gamble and it could easily go wrong, like many I'm uneasy and I'm sure Bruno knows the price of getting it wrong.

Spot on Mikeybear, if we land our remaining targets, ie, Nunes and a new striker we'll be good to go. Yes, squad depth is still a concern and to some degree always will be.
The loss of Coady was a bit of a shock but the team and it's style is changing, it happens. I suspect that Coady has gone to keep his World Cup hopes alive rather than fight for his place here.
The problem is we never hear the whole story, on the one hand he gets intentionally dropped for the first time in 7 years then he's off. But on the other he's been told that he will play a bit part only in Lage's plans going forward, that would have scuppered his WC hopes.
What is interesting is that Everton have only loaned him so they may just be thinking injury cover, so no guarantees there either. Coady's predictable badge kissing at Everton is probably relief that he gets at least a chance of WC selection rather than probably none if he had sat on the bench at Wolves. A bit like Ruddy who knew he had to leave to play. In truth if Everton don't trigger the option to buy he'll be back anyway. So we transition to 4 at the back which many have called for. It may cost us initially but give it time and we could see the benefits especially if our attack gets more clinical thanks to our new signings.

If we nunes, keep neto get jiminez firing again we can lose MGW, he won't want to be a bench warmer. Traore is another (who I personally like) who can go. That still leaves us 'thin' up front if injuries bans occur, but we could work around it. The media seem to ignore anything outside of london/manchester/Liverpool. I'm excited at our prospects now in a realistic way, let's just get nunes in.

Not sure how praising Conor coady is knocking the club,he deserves every plaudit in my opinion, and if wanting some good players in is same
Well!

I mentioned Guedes the other day but my post was lost in the ether again, although it is possible I’m pressing the wrong button. We also still have Boly and Mosquera so no need to replace Coady, I have a feeling Collins is leadership material too, or maybe a Portuguese captain might work better. I get why Coady went, doesn’t stop the disappointment though, felt similar after jota but more because he was great to watch.

Praising Coady isn't Greyleg but some have used it as an opportunity to have a go rather than praise the club for evolving the playing style that so many fans were calling for.
This forum has been inundated with certain posters constantly slating the club, but when we sign a highly rated talent, they all go quiet, funny that.

Coady an absolute legend,we will miss him but hope he gets to play in world Cup as he deserves it.
Guedos great signing, still not convinced 4 at back will be successful as Jonny and Ait Nouri better I think in a five.
Hope I am wrong, will now relax for 9 games and review where we are at then
Hope to be pleasantly surprised.
2 nil Wolves win v Fulham on Saturday.

There are fans who understand the game and there are those who just love to whinge, its part and parcel of the game, for me I'm excited at what might be, yes loosing Coady was not good, but it's for the good of the team and himself on a personal level for for world Cup, the current team need some fresh legs and style of play, and I truly believe Bruno will give us that.
Il put my hand if wrong, but he has rolled his dice and I'm behind him and the club

09 Aug 2022 12:44:35
I agree that some of the whingers have stopped moaning on the back of the new signing, but I am going to stick my neck out a bit here!
We are still desperately short of quality additions to play premier league level football and if you have bought your ticket and can see this then why shouldn't you have a moan!
The Leeds game highlighted the complete lack of depth, so to jump on the band waggon and start castigating moaners is an easy cheap shot!
Fans are moaning yes, but its more out of seeing the necessity for additional players that just being general whinge bags.
This is starting to sound like a moaning about non-moaners who moan about moaners!
UTW.

I’m gutted about Coady but buzzing about Guedes and hopefully we’re looking at getting another 2/3 players Bruno putting his team together once it clicks I think we’re going to have an exciting team to watch again

09 Aug 2022 14:01:59
Padwolf I'm not talking about fans moaning when things don't work out, I do that and I've said plenty on here about our paper thin squad. But I am talking about those who only ever post negatively and never credit the club when it's due. Now that's a cheap shot.
