So Birmingham have signed Ruddy and Wolves have recalled Sarkic from them and installed him as the back up keeper to Sa.
I know Sarkic is younger and therefore has a longer playing future than Ruddy, now 35, but who is the better keeper at this moment?
Should Wolves have squeezed another season out of Ruddy or was now the right time to let go?

I think the only way Ruddy would have stayed was if he was guaranteed to play more games. It seems he wants at least one more season of being the main man before he retires. He'll get that at Blues, even though personally I think he could have got that at a club likely to compete at the higher end of the Championship, it may be that he's looking for the balance of first team football and not uprooting his family. A great keeper with a great attitude and a great servant to Wolves.

Long. I read that Bruno wanted him to stay but tbh who wouldn't, very good keeper, top man, supports others, in fact a great pro. I also read that Tony Roberts wanted Sarkic to have another year on loan! I think it's a risk tbh but they've decided to clear out or send out on loan all many as they can to bring in new blood. Or at least we hope so, Collins is I think a very good start. Goalkeeper is a position they've decided to cut back on we can only trust it works. They are not going to take any notice of us fans anyway!

Sarkic has to step up at some point, he had a good period on loan so as long as he is used sensibly he could easily prove his worth.

Cup runs with a realistic draw are the only way any reserve keeper is going to get game time bar injuries to the first choice. Replays now effectively banned reduce the options even more. A conference league place with 6 guaranteed games would have altered that calculation considerably but alas it wasn't to be the case. So its loan or move Ruddy on. let's hope the club have made the correct choice. It is a big gamble IMO in the event of injuries to SA we could come unstuck.

You are assuming that sarkic hasn't the capability to step up, what's to say that if he gets the chance he won't take it?

Only one way to find out if Sarkic is good enough, play him! Too many on the books are supposedly for the future. Academy and under 23s have nothing near ready for Premier football, it would be good to have an home grown talent grading our team.
