Jesus wept! If only Wolves had a squad with depth that could cope with a player being injured.

10 Jul 2022 13:39:24
We could do with some good news it is long overdue.

Don't recall having so many acl injuries in the past. What has changed. Is the medical team missing something?

10 Jul 2022 18:54:48
Backroom staff are as inept as Shi and Sellars. Plus players over the last two seasons have not and are no fit-ridiculous.

Said before and saying it again, no news is good news. Getting fed up with the sarky defeatist comments. Games behind closed doors and the term 'secret' are for a reason, one of which is that people, like some pessimists on here can't start moaning and unsettling, jumping to conclusions before the seasons started. Let the club do their business and make the decisions then you can comment on the outcome. As things stand we've still got neves and MGW who some now see as an asset when they've dissed him in the past. We've still got traore, who I see as a benefit. Mouts has resigned. Bruno tries out back 4 coady is lost I read, that's the negativity we don't need after the 'knock abouts'. There will be some movement I'm sure but let's remark on things when they happen. I see no reason why relegation needs to be mentioned let alone considered. We all apparently love our club let's see some allegiance.

ACL injuries occur in about 10% of footballers and are usually caused by a rotation of the body on a planted foot. Although we've had our run of rotten luck with them, they have nothing to do with the coaching staff. There are ways they can be mitigated and the reduce of them occurring lowered, but some of that is down to how a player approaches the game as well as their own physical attributes.

Abbey I thought some of the reason for games behind closed doors was that they are easier to organised as well. No police presence needed, no tickets to process, no need to open up the ground and provide stewards and catering facilities. Means if two teams are free they just need a coach and a pitch to put the game on.

The problem is Alex that our probability of getting these kind of injuries seems to have gone up a marked amount since we let Phil Hayward go as Head of Sports Science! The same Phil Hayward who can now be seen at Wimbledon being a sports scientist to the stars their! We have made savings in our back room team and its cost us I'm afraid, out of ALL the places to make savings it was arguably the worst option (for me).

In the past year the players who have had operations for ACL are :- KJH, Johnny twice, Neto, Samedo,Mosquera and Chiquinho.
And I think there were also casualties in under 23/18s.
This seems to be a disproportionately high number or we unlucky?
Heaven forbid we have the same injuries to one or more of our midfield.

You are of course correct Alex re expenses etc, but its not always 'a game' in sense of competiveness or fluency for fans to distract and influence. I'm just getting abit fed up hearing were relegation bound etc. and the moaners pick up on anything. Next week we'll start to see where Brunos aiming to take us and we can begin to constructively comment then.

An article recently (Birmingham Mail I think) stated Lage likes to drive players hard in pre-season. If they come through it they will be ok to hit the ground running. If true I'm not sure its wise, but I'm not qualified to objectively comment.

When the season starts our fun and enjoyment of pre/post match will be back.

Winton: KJH, Neto, Semedo and Mosquera have NOT had ACL injuries. Only Jonny.

SQ: On what basis do you believe that the backroom staff are inept. Please tell us all.

12 Jul 2022 16:24:18
