It was Phil but Hungary played well and maybe Jeff could sign some Hungarians now they know where we are.

It was Phil and all down to team selection and a lack of a game plan. Too many out of their depth tonight.

I was at the match Phil mate crowd got very hostile towards the players, Maguire was booed when he came on chants of "you don't know what you're doing" and booing too even a few "Southgate out" too.

Treatment of Coady was an absolute disgrace, thought Southgate was supposed to be a brilliant man manager, no reason at all for not playing Coady for at least half the game, could really have done with an organiser at the back.

Wolves have a Hungarian player on the books called Bolla who signed after the euros.

Hungary aren't as bas a side as they have been made out to be, but last night was shameful. The last week or so has been to be honest. 4 games without a goal in open play. No creativity despite having possibly the best attacking options in years. Southgate's game management from the world cup in terms of substitutions has been questionable.

I won't buy into the players being tired as surely it's the same for nearly all the European nations on the back of a long season.

Southgate has delivered more than most England managers, but I can't help thinking the relative success at tournaments is in spite of Southgate rather than due to Southgate, but the players also need to take a long look at themselves.
