We finished 41 points behind Liverpool and 42 points behind Man City so why have we not tried to sign Haaland or Nunez?
Looks like we will be minding the gap for the foreseeable future.

Agree0 Disagree0

Do you think the gap will be smaller or bigger next season?

I'm expecting it to be smaller.

I'm expecting 60 points no less maybe a little more.

Neto jonny a full season Jimenez back on song or replaced,
Podence less niggling injuries,
New signings,
Another seasons experience gained in the premier league.
A good start to the season points wise I'm expecting too.

One thing we have is a lot more room for improvement as we are growing,
Man City Liverpool are already there.

Yazz the only way is up, (the last vinyl record I bought the 12".)

The only way is up for the mighty wolves.

Because Haaland has cost Man City £50m, plus they have paid him £15m signing on fee, plus £10m to his agent and then £600k per week to the player. So in total, this 1 player is costing Man City £106m for this season alone then £31m per season. Thet can afford to do this where as we can't.

You answered your own question. What gap BTW, and with who?

10 Jun 2022 06:37:23
The question is how can City afford that for just one player?
What happened to their ffp investigation?

Well it does help that the main club sponsor is owned by the club owner and the value is undisclosed.

Because it's the real world and not FIFA or FM on cheat mode. Players are human beings and Haaland would rather play for a club he has some affinity to who can pay him a stupid amount of money, guarantee him Champions League football from day one and a realistic shot at a trophy in every competition he'll play in.

Wolves can offer him nothing even close to that at the moment.

Plus we all know Haaland looks to be a great player, but he hasn't done it in the PL yet. There's still an element of risk it won't work out for him at city and he may take time to adjust. If he has a slow start at City he'll be given a chance to settle. If he had a slow start at Wolves there'd be a witch hunt on him and people would be slating Jeff for wasting so much money on an unproven PL player.

Thank you Alex.
The real world definition of ‘League’ is a group of sports clubs who play each other over a period of time for a championship.
We are not in that league as we are aiming to finish 30 or 40 points behind the teams who are playing for the championship.
When Fosun took over from our previous owner we were told that we were aiming to match the top clubs.
What is the justification for increasing season ticket prices when the club are cutting their expenses by releasing players from an already small squad?

10 Jun 2022 16:06:27
What is the point of football then?

What is the point of even bothering to be interested in wolves?

What is the point of having a fans forum?

Im done grrr.

Because the players being released are not making the squad better so releasing them allows us to free up money to buy better players. A perfect example of this is Man City moving on players so that Sergio Aguero could be brought in. Liverpool did it to bring in Salah. All clubs do it. I don't think at the start of the season we set to finish 40 points off the pace but if you were a player, would you rather play for a team that offers you £100k per week, guaranteed titles and European football or £50k a week and League football only. To break into the upper echelons of football needs mega money which is restricted by FFP.
