Yes we lost but Burnley are our bogey team anyway we move on to the next match, with what Bruno has had at his disposal a top half finish is a fantastic achievement.
I hope Fosun back him in the Summer no more ffp restrictions in place so no more excuses.

I wouldn't be surprised if they let Bruno go at the end of the season. It would be harsh, but he has made mistakes with team selections and substitutions. There is also no excuses for how many games we have not been up for it. Not sure I would trust a man with my money who rates Trincao so highly.

24 Apr 2022 18:55:36
That may be surprising to many Camo but there has been some speculation of late, with some of the media claiming Wolves have been scouting other Managers.
I think Fosuns dilemma may be that we are in danger of becoming a 'nearly' team with not too much progress over the last two years compared to the somewhat meteoric rise that occurred when they first brought in Nuno.
We have some very good technical players and in general are a good team, but seem to lack the 'bloody-mindedness' needed to succeed in the Prem. Matches like today only serve to highlight that.

If Fosun got rid of Lage this season then I REALLY would begin to worry! They want to look abit closer to home if they are unhappy with our progress! Lage may not be perfect but he's working with an inherited squad, a squad that he hasn't even been able to play his preferred formation with! He made his name on an attacking 4-4-2 but has realised quickly here we simply don't have the personnel (and I'm sorry but we don't).
Now, Lage has made it pretty clear that his contribution to transfers is limited and they are where the problem lies! I said a few weeks back that the ONLY good business for the last two seasons are Nouri and Sa other than that what have they got right?! Even with Hwang when we signed him I'll admit he looked like great business. Saddly since its been announced we are taking the option up he's dropped off the map, which begs the question why did we jump the gun?! He should still be playing for his contract (like he was before) whereas he suddenly looks pedestrian! Then there's Vittinha, another transfer we clearly got wrong! I'm sorry but the problem isn't Bruno the problem is that our recruitment/transfer management has become bang average! How many good managers have Everton got through, when the ACTUAL problem has been recruitment?!
For example, people ask why Lage is persisting with Hwang/Trincao but what's he supposed to do?! Podence is injured, which happens quite a lot I'm afraid. Netos still making his way back and Chinquinho has only just arrived. So what REAL options does he have? If Dendonker was injured/suspended we'd have NO other option than an academy graduate?! I'm not happy with the performance today but look at the squad and ask yourself how many quality options beyond our starting eleven does Lage REALLY have?
If we become a firing club then we really are in trouble, cause its just a way of deflecting the blame! If the Fosun want to kick on then they have to stop pinching pennies and do what they used to and invest in a quality back room team! The crazy thing is that I'm not talking about spending stupid transfer budgets, in fact I'd rather we upped the backroom wage budget! Right now it feels like for every pound we save on backroom wages (mostly a Director of Football) we lose around £10-100k in poor transfer business! Now that's not Lages fault, no that's a business conglomerate looking at this club by the numbers. I'm sure by the numbers not paying for a Director of Football (which is usually one of the highest staff wages at a club) makes complete sense! Frees up wages for players and the role can be spread between others at the club (Sellars and Jeff) so problem solved right? However, when you consider that we will probs lose somewhere between £20-40m on what we could have got for Adama if that had been handled properly? And that's just one transfer! How many Directors of Football does that pay for?! How many quality academy players come to that?! It's not about how much we spend, it's about how we are spending it and that's not just true of the squad it's the whole club! In Bruno we trust! ?

It's back to the 'see what happens in the summer' situation bullysboy. Players of the quality banded about in January wouldn't come cheap and with the world Cup and want of euro football we may be hampered. So young unknown (to us/me anyway) might be our way. Bruno I dare say will know who he wants, but can he achieve his desires? I don't think for a minute he'll be sacked but could he be released at his own request? I hope not because as you say in Bruno I trust. Today's performance lies at his door though.

24 Apr 2022 21:15:54
Spot on BB mate I agree with everything you said.

24 Apr 2022 22:07:06
100% agree Bullys Boy II. At last some common sense on here.
Some of the comments on here today and after other defeats are wholly baffling.

24 Apr 2022 22:32:15
BullysBoy II, I agree with the constraints Fosun have put on moving the staff (backroom and playing) forward, but unfortunately any manager that plays their top scorer on the right wing needs to look in the mirror. Also as much as Silva has improved he is still too lightweight to cause issues against a physical side like Burnley. Chinquinho may be a new arrival, but he has energy when he plays, which is missing from several players at the moment. If supporters can see these decisions are poor, why isn't the manager.

25 Apr 2022 08:36:42
Agree with Camo,
Ultimately the blame for when we lose is down to the manager and the players.
Our players our team our manager is better than Burnley's as obvious where we both are in the league.
We should of beat Newcastle and Burnley and fosun/shi will be seeing/thinking the same.
That's how it is simple for me.
I do still back Lage and fosun and as others have said the summer transfer window will be very important.
Up the wolves.?

25 Apr 2022 12:37:35
I understand that in terms of selection that's up to the manager but I ask again what options did he have?! Shouldn't the question be WHY has he felt the need to start a striker at right wing? A striker who has only scored 6 all season I might add. Bruno played Raul there because we look incapable of scoring at the moment and I suspect he felt more confident that playing him there would result in a goal than starting Chinquinho out there. Again I said this back in Jan but we let Traore go and replaced him with an academy player, how's that Lages fault exactly?
Like I said I agree the performance was poor but that's what happens when there's no competition for places! Let me put it a different way, there were a lot of average performances agaisnt Burnley so how many of those players would or even could we drop for the next game?! It can't be easy for Lage to keep players fighting for a starting place when we could all name almost every player in the starting line up week in week out! Players should be playing for a starting place, other than our defence that just isn't happening I'm afraid and it's starting to show! ?

25 Apr 2022 13:14:39
I respect everything you say bullysboy and you post very good ?
For me I can only post how I see it same as anyone.
I believe the club do the best they can even when a vast amount of wolves fans are disappointed confused about where the club has been the last 2 seasons regarding transfer windows shi taking on extra roles.
I think the club should state in public exactly how it is and to answer all the questions fans want answering.
They may have already done so and if so would be good for a poster on here to post that.
This hopefully will set all fans minds at ease most importantly for the fans like my brother who go to the match season ticketers etc.
I feel fans at the match should be always on board with the club and it's the clubs duty to always keep that constantly.

Ps I never will lose the hope we all will have our day together as one when wolves are the best.

BullysBoy II. He has had plenty of options. Neto should be playing each week to get back to full match fitness, 10 mins does nothing. He has full backs that are better at taking players on and crossing compared to Jimenez, put them on the wing when we have injuries. Make substitutions at half time showing you are not happy with performance.Above all, motivate your players to qualify for Europe. Don't slag players off in the press as it breeds dressing room splits. Even Coady wasn't motivated yesterday.

25 Apr 2022 16:10:26
Sorry Camo but injury recovery is SO much more scientific than just saying the more they play the fitter they get! Neto is a HUGE asset and chucking him back in before he was fit was what got us where we are with his current injury. If the club don't think he's ready to start then he almost certainly isn't ready (if he was Lage would be starting him). As for the wingers you are suggesting that Lage would have been better playing Hooever there, as that's the only right sided full back we have that didn't play?! Last time I saw Hooever play everyone on here was saying how he needed a loan in the Champ just to learn how to play FB but now we are expecting him to deliver out of position?! And had he done that you would have asked why start Hooever in attack when Rauls on the bench?! As for making substitutes at half time that's fine if a) you have someone on the bench that can change the game and b) everyone on the bench is up to playing 45 mins and I suspect neither of those statements are correct. Here's an idea maybe if Lage had a first team quality winger in the squad (let's call him Adama for arguments sake:) then wouldn't that be a better option than Raul?
Like I keep saying I'm not pretending Lage couldn't have got his game plan better. What I am saying is that most good teams have options outside of there starting eleven and we don't! We have about 15-17 first team players then the rest are u23's. Every season this catches up with us by this point of the season and every season we agree we need ACTUAL squad depth, the problem is we seem to be further away from that now than we were the second season in the Prem! ?

25 Apr 2022 16:13:47
Phil- no worries buddy, as always I have nothing but respect for your POV. Its not that I think Fosun don't want to succeed, all owners do. But I do think they have lost there way since 'going it alone' when it comes to the back room. Time will tell and I REALLY hope for all of us we get the transfer window we need. Going off recent experiences though I am VERY nervous regarding how that will play out. Fingers crossed eh old buddy ?
COYW ???

25 Apr 2022 17:11:35
Sound bullysboy ?
Just got in putting bins out chatting to my neighbour who is wolves like us he says fosun seem to lack ambition to be top 6 club and we haven't got no squad depth.
Just how he sees it.

We both agreed we're wolves fans and are used to the ups and downs lol.
It's crap the downs when you feel certain it would be never a down.
But as I say we're used to it.
My neighbour also said at least we're not championship lol.

Yes time will tell mate ?
Up the wolves.

25 Apr 2022 17:24:57
Cont'

Fingers crossed ? for us both bullysboy mate and for all of us.

25 Apr 2022 17:49:54
BullysBoyII. I agree that injuries need to be managed, but other teams will build fitness to get to full games. Neto has 10-15 mins a game. Our full backs are supposed to be wing backs and be pushing on and able to cross a ball, so they should be the perfect player to sub in for a winger. I would never suggest Jimenez on the bench, as he should have started at centre forward as per my original post. I totally agree that our squad is thin and the board have allowed it to get this way. The issue I have with Bruno is that the players at his disposal are not used correctly in order to find some balance. The puzzling thing for me is he still thinks we played well against Burnley. Appreciate the responses guys as it's always good to have differing opinions. Fingers crossed the summer is fruitful.

25 Apr 2022 23:15:32
Camo- you make a fair point, as I said I agree that Lage is still learning but when I consider the doom and gloom that was on these boards before the season started then he's done pretty well (like you say though that's just my opinion:). I think our biggest problem is (and it kills me to say this) but we don't have a 15-25 goal a season player anymore (at one point we had two of um)! I desperately hope Raul proves me wrong next season but for that to happen like you say he needs to be central. I also think we MUST get the squad Lage needs to play his own system. I actually think Raul and Fabio could be a real handful together but as you suggest we need balance in the squad for us to play two up front. And I couldn't agree more though, the differing opinions is what makes this forum fun ?

26 Apr 2022 06:39:30
Definitely need a 15/20 goal a season player minium.
Our achilles heal last 2 seasons scoring goals.
As Arddunby posted we turn our 1-0 defeats into draws the table would look different.
We are close and Lage contract 3 years I believe in that time we will be top 6 that's the clubs plan as I see it.
Before the last 2 seasons many thought we woukd struggle and some think we will or may struggle next season but we haven't struggled the last 2 seasons and I can't see us struggling next season.
The club is growing to get to the point of us being strong to compete in the top 6.
I feel it is a massive feat to achieve for our club but positive we have a good shot at it.
In the 3rd season under Lage mouthino will surely be replaced, jiminez a strong shout he replaced too.
Neves maybe gone this summer.
It's a big turning point for any club when their big top players are replaced.
Exciting nerve racking times for all of us coming up the near future.
