I'm not expecting too much in way of incoming players next month, I think it'll be Summer we'll see big changes.

It'll most probably rest on this month's points tally and league position. If we believe we can push for Europe it'd be a big incentive for quality to be recruited. If we're looking at mid table, which I think we will, then leave it to summer.

I suspect we will only make one and and an outside chance two in January.
Imo there's not many top quality players available in tge Jan window.

Saying that Newcastle will most likely offer huge contracts to get their desperate need for players.

For me I forsee a lot of disappointed wolves fans if there are no major signings for us in Jan but it is how it is in January and along with Rated its next summer transfer window that i'm expecting major signings and if we don't I will be disappointed but not in January.

I agree, I think the summer will see a lot more activity as Wolves (as far I know) will be out from under the restraints of FFP?

I can see a couple of players being added, a CB for sure as either WB will be at AFCON or quite possibly still be injured if he’s not.

There won't be much happening in January as it's a window that never represents value for money. There will probably be a permanent deal signed for Hwang, a midfielder on a loan to buy and possibly a centre back on a loan to buy.

I'd expect Fabio may go out on loan to Europe for the remainder of the season as well especially if Neto is back in training and there aren't any other injuries to the forward players we have.

Alex I would agree regarding Hwang!
I think (rare event) if they can get a decent deal they will sign Sanches (optimism I know).
I'd hope for a centre back as well but not sure who. I'd like Tarkowski because if Burnley want any money it's their last chance and also would be a lower cost than others. I know talk is Newcastle but would he want to risk being relegated even on big money when we would be a better move, i'm biased obviously! I think he probably still has a desire to get back in the England squad, unlikely from the Championship.
We'll see. As usual Jeff Shi is quiet saying very little, mixed messages tbh you read allsorts. COYW

A permanent deal for Hwang in January will be good as there are limits on the number of loan players allowed, so this will allow us to take another loan on board. Plus, it will stop other clubs bidding for Hwang in the summer, unless they deal with us. But, Hwang will need to show us by the end of December that his early form was not a fluke. Bonatini had a great start in the championship a few years ago, but then he couldn't hit a barn door from point blank range after we signed him permanently! I figure Hwang is different and will be signed permanently. He reminds me of Jota.

{Ed001's Note - when he played for Salzburg alongside Minamino against Liverpool a few years back, he was excellent. Only Minamino stood out more than him. But he did not look like a goalscorer, more of a Maupay-type, works hard, gets in good positions but misses a lot of chances.}

Ken, I think the board keep things quiet to avoid other clubs poaching our targets or clubs driving up transfer fees. Also if the deal falls through it avoids the whole egg on your face scenario.

Sanches may be a possibility. It's one I'm not necessarily expecting but also wouldn't be that surprised if it happened. Centre back is an interesting dilemma. 2 players gone for AFCON for a little while, but the same 3 have played all season and Boly hasn't got a game yet for various reasons. He will be at AFCON but only for a couple of weeks. It's unlikely a significant upgrade to our current defenders will come available in January so a short term loan is more likely.

I expect Tarkowski will want European football next season so will probably keep his options open until the summer and then move on a free to the best placed team who are interested in him.

My expectation is that whoever comes in, will be someone fairly unknown to us who we all say "who?" about at first and who the media completely miss the mark on.

Alex. I don't see Burnley wanting to sell to Newcastle regardless of price. If the player wants it who knows depends on his ambition. If he does have ambition and to get to Europe he could kelp us make it!
It would be good to cover midfield because we don't know Moutinho's plans yet so having someone having time to settle would be good. Wait and see I guess!
