To try and encourage some discussion and perhaps something the younger supporters are not aware of, in 1967 the Los Angeles Wolves. The United Soccer League in the United States imported teams from other countries to play a summer league.

Wolves relocated to LA for the summer with a total of 12 sides joining in. I saw my local side San Francisco Golden Gate Gales (in reality Den Haag) play at Candlestick. In the end the two divisional winners played off with Wolves beating the Washington Whips (Aberdeen) in the final.

Ahhh Peter Knowles our greatest loss! Probably became a brilliant window cleaner. Well he could see a pass.

I saw the Doog play for Blackburn in an FA Cup Tie replay against Spurs at WHL He was unplayable and had just started to sport his crew cut.

Alun Evans went to Liverpool for a huge (well at the time) fee.

Indeed future, I think he was the first 100k teenager a good bit of business that IMO for the club, sadly the players potential was never quite realised if my memory is cotrect! Ronnie Allan was a good manager who went on to sign Derek Parkin, Ken Hibbit and the nucleus of the 74 side and should never have been replaced by Bill McGarry IMO.
