Fun fact. George Russell who will be replacing Bottas and partnering Lewis Hamilton next season in the Mercedes F1 team is, in fact, a Wolves fan and his dad is a season ticket holder. He's faster than Traore, apparently.

Apologies to those who already knew this.

Sir Edward Elgar
Tito Jackson
COYW.

09 Sep 2021 17:46:44
I believe Edward Elgar was supposed to be a fan as well.

09 Sep 2021 18:56:42
Elgar used to cycle from Malvern to home games. From a TV program about him and his life.

09 Sep 2021 20:06:05
Elgar apparently wrote the first football chant, something like ' he kicked the leather ' I think. Its more a song. I heard a rendition of it on QI or similar, it's awful, but it's for wolves by renown English composer so I'll take it.

Sue Lawley the "Nationwide" presenter from the 70s and I think Mark Speight from Art Atack a childrens tv show is a fan as well.

Hi Phil789, sorry for the late reply, just dealing with all the stuff needed following 2 weeks in the Netherlands visiting family.

Some really interesting names put forward, some I'd forgotten about.

I've always liked the Elgar stories about him cycling from Malvern to the games, imagine that. However, I think he was also sweet on a certain young lady in Wolverhampton, as well.

One final one we've all forgotten about. Didn't Mark Hamill aka Luke Skywalker get roped into the Pack by some Wolves fans on twitter.

{Ed001's Note - yes he did. I remember that.}

May the force be with you. ?.

Apologies Jas, looks like you beat me to the Mark Hamill one. Need to get my reading glasses on.

Andy Murray became a "Wolves Fan" after being taken to a few games by his then coach David Lloyd who is a lifelong fan.
