I think I'm correct but not certain. I reckon that every time England have played in a major tournament with a Wolves player in the squad and not played him they've won it!

Hi Ken I looked it up Ron Flowers so you're correct.
I like it wolves here there everywhere.

Didn't Steve Bull play in the England 1990 World Cup squad? We didn't win it because he wasn't in the actual team that went out? It was quite a coup for a second division CF to play for England. Wouldn't happen now.

DEEP if my memory serves me right isn't bull (LEGEND) still the first division 2 player to get 1 appearance and score.

05 Jul 2021 12:15:40
Deep. If he hadn't played and just been in the squad we'd have won it. Trust me!

Technically when Bully made his debut and scored against the Scots, he was still an old third division player.

If memory serves me right in Italia 90, he started against Egypt and came off the bench against Belgium.

I remember Bully scored in the warm up game at italia 90 sure it was against Albania.
Also the TV world Cup intro bully was on that Pavarotti the tennar.

Also came on against Holland, scored against Tunisia ( not Albania) FWAW.

Nice 1 Preston👍
FWAW.

92nd minute against Tunisia to rescue a 1-1 draw.

05 Jul 2021 14:13:51
I'm sure Bully was first to jump on Platt when he scored against Belgium.

Steve Bull scored 250 goals in 474 matches for Wolves. Phenomenal. Despite not being a top flight player he was selected 13 times for the full England team and scored 4 goals. If he had been selected for more England games, who knows how much better England would have done! What a record. It's very rare for any lower league player to be selected for England, let alone a centre forward. At 5'9" he was small for a CF but by god he made up for it with his feet.

Bully got 306 goals for Wolves in 561 matches for Wolves.

05 Jul 2021 18:45:03
Bully 306 goals in 541 apps for wolves.
Scored plenty goals with his head left right foot all round goal scoring machine.
My hero.

05 Jul 2021 19:07:12
Andy mutch (289 goals) and bully (306 goals) including 18 hatricks those 2 were deadly.

05 Jul 2021 19:14:44
Oops 561 apps my memory was wrong.

05 Jul 2021 19:34:29
Giants, you've mis read Wiki. Mutch scored 98 goals in 289 appearances.

05 Jul 2021 20:39:55
JAS damn I did think that was a little high if I'm honest but hey what the heck is 191 goals more LMFAO yeah I think I should of gone to SPECSAVERS rather than these cheap ass pair.

06 Jul 2021 11:29:35
Just add most of Steve Bulls goals weren't tap ins and the penalties that many of the top strikers (Shearer, Rooney and Lineker to name a few) used to boost their count.

06 Jul 2021 12:24:31
I can only remember Bully taking 1 penalty for us and it being saved against Sheff Wed in the FA Cup.

06 Jul 2021 15:01:43
Thats right Statto I was on the South bank, I think it was the day the closed North Bank got broken into and the police escorted about 1000 out at half time, 1990 or 91. Andy Thompson rarely missed from the spot in those days, to be fair.
For fans who complain I never thought in those days we would ever get near to where we are now!

06 Jul 2021 16:31:52
Again if memory serves me right we lost to a rare goal from Peter Shirtiff not long before he made the move to the Mol.

06 Jul 2021 17:13:52
I can't remember the goalscorer, you're most likely correct.
