Anthony Elanga is stated by the press to be a possible casualty of Manchester United's transfer policies this summer.
He is v young and raw but looks from the evidence of the game against us last season to be a signifincant step up from Silva.
If he is available, as allegedly is the case, for just a couple of million, (or on a loan to buy basis), would he make an aceptable cover for Jimenez/ Neto - he plays left wing or CF?
I know we can't have too many kids and need some experienced pros but he was v impressive that day aganst us.
ps looks like we have lost out, (If we were ever interested), on Bertrand who I think would have been great for us to Leicester (odd as they have Castagne, Ricardo Pereira, Justin and Thomas as FBs already? ) Hope we move for Van Anholt but fear his Euro performances may have put him out of our reach. Also he probably only plays LWB well not LB so it does depend on the system we will play - which might explain the reticence to buy RAN also more a LWB than LB.

Before we get carried away with who we might be buying let’s not forget that we have already bought a multitude of youngsters who have been allowed to languish in the reserves etc. I would imagine that Fosun would be expecting some progress under Lage.

RAN and Vitinha are a bit lightweight for my liking. We already own Semedo, and skillful as he is, he is not exactly Mr Muscle either. It's been pointed out that we have a multitude of youngsters in the reserves. I'd rather Bruno thoroughly assessed them all in pre-season before we sign more. Nuno has a reputation of promoting youth, but I'm struggling to name who has broken through the ranks. Neto was an expensive signing and virtually oven-ready for the first team, so he doesn't count in my book, no more than Fabio Silva counts. I would have counted Max Kilman, but Nuno hardly ever played him. As for Taylor Perry and others, where are they in relation to the first team? Sanderson looks like he will be sold.

I agree deep throat, a thorough assessment should be undertaken of the u23 squad and any that are surplus to requirements got rid of.
I think the core of the future squad is there and probably 4 additional signings are needed.
Centre back, 2 midfielders, striker and I think we are good to go.
