BullysBoy thank you very much for posting the article from the Athletic regarding Nuno. I found it very interesting and informative I learned a lot from it. Opened my eyes a bit tbh. Its reasonably clear that Nuno in particular would miss Kevin Thelwell maybe more than I thought. He was the conduit between himself and Jeff which clearly worked and it was probably the beginning of the end. Things going wrong seemed to start shortly after. The poor run on the restart for example. But anyway that is the end of that era and we move on. Let's hope Bruno settles quickly gets the players he wants/ needs and we get behind him. Hoping for a good future for us all!

Your very welcome Ken buddy 👍 I'm pleased you found it interesting, I did as well. The Athletic do have some very interesting articles (usually 4/ 5 good ones about us a year) . Reading your posts I think we have probably come to the article from a similar position. One where I felt confused and concerned that the Nuno decision was rash/ knee jerk. I think the article gives a good bit of insight into how long it's all been building up and how the wheels had started to come off and how the club is hoping to make sure that doesn't happen!
Like you say though it's all about the future now, what can Lage bring? Onwards and upwards, for now it's ALL about a successful transfer window! 🤞🐺.

Thanks BB it shows what a loss Kevin was a sounding board who was a 3 at the back man. The importance of being in the middle of two strong characters it worked well for so long. Its a pity it ended but we move on to hopefully bigger and better!

Very true Ken, I was never a big Thelwell fan if honest but I can't argue that his leaving did coincide with the beginning of 'the rot' they speak of.

And like you say the article does suggest he was the glue between backroom and boardroom at the time. I suppose the REAL question here though is why did Kevin leave?!

For me it'll one of two reasons

a) Fosun are clearly looking to trim the fat and his contract would have been one of the larger ones on the backroom or

b) he grew tired of going to Nuno with transfer suggestions and being trumped by Mendes opinion?!

I suppose as always the truth may lie in the middle of those two things but his move to MLS was a shot from the blue at the time.

Oh well, onwards and upwards 👍.

I guess the job in the MLS was a great opportunity and maybe he tired of being the guy in the middle. Red Bulls is a massive group. We'll never know but yeh on we go. If you believe any of the stuff being written at least things may be happening in the market as they should be. Hopefully first team ready players. We shall see. On we go!
