So it is a given by most of us that some big-name players will leave. Is it great? probably not. However, this is also a chance to bring in fresh and much-needed players into the squad. This is my opinion will be the most crucial transfer window in Wolves' recent history.
If I'm to be totally honest I'm looking forward to seeing how things play out and fans back at Mol'.

I agree but as you said very important window, this will make or break us!

Indeed it is the most important for a long time.
Two questions.
1) Why are we now skint! {yes C.V. has hurt everyone badly but it in no way explains are seemingly potless position) Well we hugely overpaid for hopelessly inadequate players last summer. I hope people (the club) now realise that if the market place for players like Neves is £35m then untired kids who may never make it are not worth £20m a pop, (let alone £35m), but should be bought, as Liverpool just have done, for single digits with performance related add ons!
2) With Neto, Otto and Jimenez injured who apart from Neves and Traore can we sell for any sort of fee. Maybe Semedo but we'd probably take a loss, even on his amortisied fee, so that would hurt FFP!
How can a team that was on the verge of challenging for Champions league football 12 months ago be in this state?
Well time ticks on and many of our team have reached the point where their value and performance falls sharply and we stood still and failed to notice.
We had no injuries for 3 years and seemingly our luck ran out and we have had a series of serious injuries as well as lots of minor ones - perhpas related to that aging thing.
But most importantly we had a v v bad transfer window in the summer of 2020/ 21 and did nothing in Jan 21.
So yes it is the most important window for a long long time but given we have just lost our best manager for a long, long time and the chap who seemingly was in charge of transfers last summer will be in charge again, but this time with no money, it doesn't leave me with a lot of confidence.
What is true though is that our margin of safety has massively diminished and get it wrong again and the consequences will be v serious.

Agree totally TFIOG, the transfer window last summer was a time to be savvy and creative and we weren’t.
Even the Ed on site here was saying play it cautiously and be mindful of FFP. It just feels like we have to buy Mendes clients and often pay a premium when other more cost-effective (and maybe better in a football sense) solutions are available. I don’t dismiss the benefit of Mendes, his contacts and clients but commercially and in a sporting sense, we have to be more than a one-trick pony.
What really bugs me is where I read that we have a gentleman’s agreement with Neves to allow him to join a big team if they’re interested. Are we going to allow Neves to sign for a direct competitor, presumably at under a proper market value just because he wants to leave and sign for that club (we can’t have another Doherty-type deal)?

I genuinely think we have the players in youth, but obviously not with experience and savvy. Some shrewd experienced acquisitions could balance out the team, but, no mistake, next year's aim is going to be survival if neves traore etc exodus.
I think I said before we've gone 1 to 3 back to 2 and now find ourselves at base camp 1. We really have to look 2 seasons ahead for challenges again. Hope I'm wrong and fosun pull it out the bag again. Silence over Lage is worrying me abit too.

No one says we're skint. We have to be more cautious with our spending as all clubs incomes were down. This does not mean we are broke. Player prices will be down, not because they are getting worse but because the market has dictated thus. A prime example being Jadon Sancho. Last year valued at £130m, now available for approx £70m.

I have high hope for wolves and bruno Lage, you know new manager new system/ style along with fosun getting the transfer window right.
BUT I have even less hope than I had for England in the euros.
A guy at work asked me who do you think is the worst team,
Wolves
Birmingham or
England?
Lol it was England all day.
Sorry greyleg I know you got high Hopes for us in the euros but I can see nothing but the same old same old, we get to play the top teams we will lose that's if we get out the group stage.
I hope I am wrong and I may be a little OTT being mondayish in this heat.
Up the wolves.
Come on England prove me wrong.
If England do get to the final I will have for the very first time a vindaloo chicken (dinner) curry winner winner lol.

Respect your thoughts Phil,
But friendlys, especially last one where we should AV played more of the first starting eleven, are a bit of a pathfinder, as Gareth tried with some fringe players, but didn't get why he played out of squad players, but will stick to my guns and say we will have a great run. 👍👍.
