Statement from Wolves.

The English football pyramid will prosper with or without those who are willing to destroy more than a century of tradition and bring our beloved game into disrepute.

History. Tradition. Competition.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think it's a very good, articulate and passionate statement. Well done Wolves.

It is an excellent statement, I look forward to other clubs of the 14 making a similar statement. What likelihood the 14 will state that they will not play against the greedy six in a domestic competition if the ESL do not back down?

That thought crossed my mind Wimborne. That would mean they would only play 10 games in the season.

Brilliant statement from wolves and fosun showing commitment respect and ambition. Reflects the pyramid of hope aspiration and reality of the downs as well as ups. The 6 clubs should now be held in shame and although I know its not the players or their fans fault, . penalised in some fashion and that would be in the greedy owners pockets. Proud to be a member of this wonderful club who led the english league in europe in the early days leading to today's situation where the greedy think they can monopolise it. The pack is strong, there's strength in the pack. COYW.

Ithink all six should be punished but deducting points would be unfair as the managers and players didn't want it fine them a milion each and distribute it leuige one and two.

Million pounds pocket money to them . They need to be brought into line and all premier clubs have the same amount of total budget in a season, take the opportunity to level the playing field, then they will have to run a proper business model .

Norfolk - like your post. I would look at the basketball model where you CAN spend over the deemed base level but you have to pay into a central pot an increasing percentage of your over spend, that money is then distributed to the non over spenders.
Maybe it could be on turnover of salaries paid out.
For example for clubs with salary bills up to say £50m pa no tax. This would mean that no clubs outside of the Prem would pay the tax.
But
From £50m to £75m 10%
From £75m to £100m 20%
From £100m to £150m 30%
From £150 to £200m 40%
From £200m to £300m 50%
From £300m and over 60%
This would mean Wolves with a wage bill of circa £94m would pay just over £6m in over super tax.
But Chelsea with a wage bill of £284m would pay circa £86m of super tax.
As these tax payments would count towards FFP hopefully it would curtail to some extent the activities of the so called big clubs and make the Prem league more competitive and financially balanced. It would also provide a fair amount of cash to support teams further down the pyramid
I guess as the players would see sharp downward pressure on their salaries it may not be a popular measure with the players and may see an exodus of talent to other countries where this rule wasn't implemented. However I suspect salaries in England are far higher than elsewhere and so the consequences may not be as dire as you might imagine.

Thefutureisoldgold. Good to have like minded people, I would like to think the FA might consider these type of parameters but doubt it, I think there will be a lot of skullduggery, handshakes, and palm greasing or maybe it’s just my cynical mind but the so called big clubs usually come out smelling of roses.
