What does everyone think about this super league if it's true as they've signed if I was the Prem I would kick them out the league from next season and see how they get on and what players they keep without football for a couple of years.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think this is just a way for the so called 'Big 6' (who are the only ones to sign) to remain the biggest clubs. This will ensure that they qualify for the competition every year and reap the Financial benefits which will ensure that they will always have more money that the other 14 teams so therefore always be able to buy better players as they offer bigger prizes, wages etc and ensure that they will always be the big 6.

My suggestion would be one of these:

1: Remove them from the PL for good so that they can have a permanent place in their beloved league.

2: Let them play in the Super league but remove them from the domestic league for that season so that they can't qualify for the competition the following season.

I hope the league is set up so that these clubs can take their greed. I hope their fans protest and refuse to go to games. I would. I mean it costs be just short of £100 to take my son to a Wolves game. Just imagine having to shell out money for flights to Spain and Italy every week. They obviously haven't thought of the paying fans.

Scandalous. Chuck them all out now. Give the winner of Leicester v Soton the fa cup. If they change their mind, stick them in League 2. Promote 6 teams from the championship. They'll soon realise what a poor decision they've made.

18 Apr 2021 17:20:00
It's a disgrace. Greedy owners willing to destroy nearly 150 years of history purely for their own selfish greed, not for the good of the game.

18 Apr 2021 17:23:32
Buy a season ticket Jas M it works out a lot cheaper.

Kick them out of domestic competition completely and assume their European gold hunt. They should also be represented under new identities and not associated with the history of the clubs teams of the past. Football as a honest working man's game went out the door years ago and as been slowly taken away from us the fans. VAR is a prime example of bad / poor/? Biased decisions leaving fans waiting to celebrate be it deemed goal or no goal. I don't want to be stood wondering and delayed by a faceless monitor to tell me. Fans need to be in grounds, not being sold cola or razor blades or cars breaking into a highly paid tv subscription, (this as been a godsend during C.V. but you get my drift) . Let them go take VAR with them then then we may get back to Saturday matches be able to enjoy a match of day again and argue the contentious points over a pint without being told an elbow 3cm ahead of the defender rules out a goal, leave that for the fifa geeks.
So get shot of em, our leagues will be better for it with good honest matches again.

{Ed002's Note - I have explained elsewhere that there have been numerous options discussed and have explained the ramifications (kicked out of domestic, UEFA and FIFA competition) and this is just another option that is on the table for now. Nothing will happen over night and there are huge legal issues that would need to be addressed before the UEFA proposed changes for 2024 which they will further amend and vote on tomorrow). There will be a push by some clubs to make the Champions League a closed shop to some extent (but not completely) and this will be used to leverage they situation with UEFA. At some point teh English leagues need restructuring in any case - there are too many professional clubs.}

I know that they probably don't care but do you think the people that work at those six clubs realise how entirely repugnant the rest of the world finds them and the greed they represent?! I have to be honest with you guys now, and I NEVER thought I'd say this but I really am getting to the point where I might be done with football! It just increasingly exists in a world which rewards and encourages the very worst in society! This Super League pretty much optimises all of that, nothing short of a COMPLETE disregard for the REAL fans of those clubs just PURE greed! I would LOVE to think football will get it just deserves with a complete boycott of the Super League on TV but I fear people would still tune in?! Sooner or later fans have to come together and realise that as consumers it REALLY is up to us, they will get away with this Super League but ONLY if the fans let them! I do hope people wake up to this situation but nothing I've seen previously suggests that they will! 😭.

Politics and money!
Supported by the US JP Morgan bank!
As Ed 002 says if UEFA and FIFA alongside the major European Leagues are set against it then those clubs signing up would have a closed shop working against them and their players. If the top players were stopped from being picked for their National teams would they remain top players for very long.
How a league can be formed without the blessing of one of the governing bodies I don’t know as they currently need to be approved by those organisations. It appears to me that some US input really don’t understand the current legal set up in Football.
It could cause mayhem in all European leagues over the coming months/ years.

I'm not a big fan of Gary Neville, but fair play to what he said, and the way he said it.

18 Apr 2021 18:38:48
Just another point.
Where would they get officials from if the international and National Associations are against the league?
Officials are appointed based upon qualification from national and international Associations. Maybe FIFA!

18 Apr 2021 18:38:57
Plymouth-just seen it mate and couldn't agree more! As a rule I can't stand the man but he is absolutely bang on the money this time! 👍.

18 Apr 2021 18:57:27
Gary Neville can be the peoples spokesman. Every point he made was spot on.

18 Apr 2021 19:46:28
If Nuno has any integrity, he won't have any interest in going to Spurs now!

18 Apr 2021 20:01:13
Podence-what does he do-he was absolutely shocking last night!

18 Apr 2021 20:21:04
Just a thought, what have Spurs done to be invited into a Super League? I think some structural changes are needed to the football pyramid in our country but there has been enough capitulation to the rich and greedy.
In horse racing the better horses are handicapped and in the NFL the team with the worst record gets first pick from the College draft. Football will be in danger of boring out of its market. As fans of different clubs we must never lose our dream of playing in the Premier League and playing in Europe. To hell with the Super League and to hell with the increasing greed in our sport!

18 Apr 2021 21:58:28
Nuno has bagloads of integrity, Plymouth, so if there ever was a temptation for Nuno to go to Spurs (which I actually doubt) any links with this break away league will have ended that.

18 Apr 2021 23:42:43
Agree with all you say Bully. Especially a TV coverage block on all the matches. Fast losing interest in a game I have loved for 70+ yrs.

19 Apr 2021 01:53:41
Respect to Bayern Munich and PSG for refusing to join the fake-football Super League nonsense, and SHAME on those that have. Some of which can't even get into the Champions League! FWAW.

19 Apr 2021 09:13:37
The thing is that all the club's supposedly in this super League are foreign owned.
They don't get our pyramid of clubs fighting to get as high as we can.
Ok, we are foreign owned too, but from what I have seen of fosun so far I would like to think that they would give this a wide berth.

19 Apr 2021 09:32:26
This is a move prompted by greed so they must have some indication what TV rights are on offer. My initial thought is that as long as they can no longer play in the Premiership it will be a good thing. It will make the chase for the title much more competitive and open. As long as the players are barred from playing for their country it will leave the money grabbers out of the home clubs and we will be left with those who play for the shirt, that is also a good thing. The clubs involved Must be barred from the Prem, and players involved barred from international duty.

19 Apr 2021 09:47:58
Last time I looked the biggest tv broadcaster was, err, American owned, so probably their idea in the first place. Anyway we might get to be one of the new big six.

19 Apr 2021 10:46:41
If it goes ahead football as we know it will be ruined.
All about the money not our national tradition.
I will lose all interest as there will be no chance of wolves being the best team in England like we were in the 50's.
Try always to see the bright side but like I say if it goes ahead I'm done.

19 Apr 2021 12:14:27
Unfortunately Phil you are correct. What doesn't stack up is the invitation process to this cartel. By the way you are right about the goal. Two belters in week.

19 Apr 2021 12:44:52
I'm not that concerned phil as long as they don't compete in our league and cups. I want them to assume an identity that dosnt reflect the clubs as we know them, So Tottenham could be Tottenham cockerals, or the cocks. Arsenal The Woolwich or bankers.

19 Apr 2021 12:51:35
Agree with pretty much all of the points but assuming this goes ahead let's consider the practicalities 18 Super league clubs mean 34 home and away matches, on top of 38 Premier league games! The FA cup and League cup will surely go and the premier league reduced to 16 or even 14 clubs. This is a hand grenade lobbed into the pyramid of the game. At the moment its difficult to see how this will work based on what is being currently proposed.

19 Apr 2021 15:25:02
I hope not SQ one thing I lose would be the banter on here.

19 Apr 2021 15:56:05
I think this is the deliberate 'worst case scenario ' so that they'll get what they really want after negotiation. Still greed, still ignorant of the grass roots that feed them. Arrogance beyond belief. Another strange one for arsenal lovers, they never won the right to be in the old 1st division their finances got them elected over us and they've never been relegated, now they want to assume a big 6 position without winning the right. Utter contempt.

19 Apr 2021 17:02:40
If it happens they should have a promoted team every year.
We are wolves all our history all our great older fans and older fans who are no longer with us, to me I feel more for you and alike Abbey it's a proper kick in the teeth.
Any road we are all wolves and we are the best wouldn't have it any other way.
Up the wolves forever and always.

19 Apr 2021 17:36:05
Theres no way any German teams even could have done this because they are run so well (with the fans owning a majority of shares) . I agree with Abbey, this is all a negotiating tactic. They made a play to control the leagues finances with the Big Six project and when that failed miserably this was plan b to try and increase their financial control. I think what concerns me is the compromises the league will make to keep um. Cause if suddenly we have the Scottish approach of the big teams getting the bulk of the funds and the rest given the scraps then the result will be the same, the Prem will cease to exist as a genuine contest! It's what's killed SO many other leagues! 😭.

19 Apr 2021 17:42:53
The club flows in our veins phil, they're chasing popcorn eating dayout movie star plastic viewers with big pockets. It'll be a insult to all the loyal fans who live with their clubs.

19 Apr 2021 17:47:39
Wom- I know buddy, I hate having to admit that I'm falling out of love with the game. Almost three decades of season tickets and some of the best/ most exciting moments of my life in those days! But increasingly between VAR and this nonsense I see less and less left of the game I fell in love with to be honest. Makes me very sad and reading your post I think I'm not the only one! 😭.
