Firstly, I forgot to introduce myself previously as a new poster. Wombourne my memory of the 50's playing out as a young child, growing up in Wednesfield, was knowing when the Wolves had scored. We could hear the roar of the crowd.

Welcome Longmynd. When I read posts like yours I am very envious of those who grew up near the Mol and whose lives entwined with the club. I cannot claim such memories, all my adulation came from books and the radio in those days. It was a while before I first saw the Old Gold for real.

Thanks Wombourne. I went to my first game in about 1966/ 7, inspired by the World Cup and became hooked. My wife was born in Whitmore Reans and Jack Taylor who was arguably the best referee this country's ever produced was their family butcher. Some of the 70's players were personal friends, so I suppose it has been a lifelong thing.

My dad would of been 81 this year and bought us up with tales of the 50's heyday.
My dad was so proud to be wolves and so are my bro and I just like everyone on here.
Come on you wolves.
Forever wolves are we.

It is a great place to live, it's been my home for 30 years and yet only 45 minutes from the Golden Palace.
