I think Sunday was the turning point in our season, in the second we saw something not seen for awhile passion and desire from the players.

Agree0 Disagree0

Just sad that we have nothing left to play for as Nuno decided to end our season early when he picked a weak team in the cup game. Our ‘cup final’is now West Brom away.

I think Nuno called it right E.

The chance of winning the cup was always slim so best to concentrate on the league where we can still finish in a good position even grabbing a Euro place ok not easy but more likely than winning the cup.

17 Feb 2021 20:26:52
But we have most of our injured players on the way back and they only have ‘friendles’left to play.

When we are safe it will be a golden opportunity to give some of the younger players some minutes. To give them more experience/ see if they are good enough.

Just watching Porto. They are beating Juve 2-0.
If their youngsters aren’t good enough they sell them for £35 million.

E I was annoyed about the cup but reflecting on it I think Nuno did the right thing, there is a big difference between guaranteed £2million and £100million mate.
Also worth noting there is only 10 points between us and 6th place so still all to play for.
We most likely won't get top 6 now but sill play for top half finish which will attract better players than if we finished 17th for example.

Rated - exactly correct.

Everyone's talking about the value of staying in the league buts what's the value of a Euro place?! Not just financially but more so in terms of the players you can sign? What's the value of incoming transfers honestly believing you want to win some silver ware with them?! I understand Nunos rationale but people are talking like we had to pick one match to win and that wasn't the case! Neto was our hands down match winner on Sunday, if at 21 he can't play 150 mins in a week then we have a problem! Look, Nuno won the game so like Mick he gets the pass. But we have two cups that we can realistically win so we need to take them seriously! And it's not just about the fans, what about the players?! They came to the club for moments like Raul scoring a brace in front of a packed Wembley stadium. For me its all to easy to forget those moments right now, as we watch matches in emtpy stadia but please don't tell me those moment DON'T matter. As I've said before we lost to Watford and I'll STILL tell my Gran kids about that day. Not sure a 2-1 compitulation by the Saints will make the same highlights reel!

We also get 2 million extra I believe per standing place in the league.
A very disappointing way to exit the fa cup but it over now so we move on.
This season watching on tv with no fans is a lot less exciting as if there were fans.
But football being played and watching wolves is better than being smacked round the face with a wet fish.

Hi bullysboy your post wasnt on my screen when I posted earlier.
I agree the moments do matter, but this season all football is totally different I get fans frustrations at our poor play and all that, me a positive always looking on the bright side I see the same as everyone and thursday was a bad game and I was just as cheesed off as the next man.
I want silva to score, I want Adama to cut in and score, I want neves to find his shooting boots I want to see nuno running down the line arms up in the air with glee after we score in a sincilating 25 pass move.
I'm sure these things will happen but I really don't think it will be this season.
Next season the season I judge.

Rated - agree! Hopeful we will end season strongly and next year return to the top end of the table with renewed vigour
Bully - said at time - when asked which one I would win if we could only win one - that I'd take cup win. Completely agree we could have won both and with Cherries in next round we surely would be in Semi's
Then its a lucky bounce etc from an FA cup final - we haven't been in one in my life time and realistically I am starting to run out of chances!
As you correctly say the value of a cup win is also far more than the cash earnt from it - although qualifying for Europe also adds a bit - but in terms of attracting players being in Europe and winning cups makes a huge difference!
