Just noticed
Since William Jose has been here we've picked up 8 points.
Now I've been critical of him, but does anyone think this is not just co incidence
It's certainly a better return than we were getting?

Pedro - good point and it might be a coincidence as he hasn't exactly pulled up trees himself particularly since Arsenal at home but I suspect it is more to do with the change in tactics that playing him allows. When he plays we can hold the ball and that allows not only to build attacks from there but it also has the massive advantage that you don't concede if you have the ball in their half. When you play Silva in the middle it just keeps coming back as he has a poor touch and is just too weak and slow to keep the ball.

Pedrowolf, there is something in this about Jose. What a player does off the ball can be just as important as what he does when he has the ball. Jose is being taken seriously by opposing sides, as well they should given his pedigree. He is a danger. He can pull defenders out of position and in doing so create chances for other Wolves players. Also, maybe he is just plain lucky for us?

That's the point I made a while ago about Raul being missing. Its not just his goals but his style of play brings more out of the wide players because of his ability to make the ball stick. It's no coincidence that Traore and Neto have been more effective with Jose in the side despite the fact Jose hasn't scored.

Also he is another presence in defending corners and free kicks - Raul being the front man regularly cleared corners and Jose has done the same. Need to look at his all round game and not purely in goal output albeit we all want him to get a bagful!

From the brief goal highlights I saw of match sunday, If not for Neto class and awareness and ability Jose would of had a tap in.
He was there where before him most times there would of been nobody there.
Agree with all posts above.

Since his arrival I think he's added quite a bit mainly linking play by being able to control the ball and pass unlike Silva who needs to cut out the fancy flicks that end with losing the ball! I would have backed him to score against Arsenal until he was tripped for the penalty. Don't honestly know about long term but currently a better option than Silva who has a great deal to learn yet and in my opinion needs to bulk up because he's very easily knocked off the ball.

Personally don't think Jose can take much credit for recent points haul. What we've had are some very mediocre performances with more than our share of good fortune and the odd bit of brilliance. Fair play for people trying to find positives with Jose and yes he's a better option than Fabio but not by much. Our recent points tally and a decent 2nd half against saints, should hopefully give us a springboard to a strong end to the season but let's not kid ourselves here. There is still a lot to do and most of our players need to up their game. Not least of all Jose.

Inclined to agree Sharesum, Jonnys return has also helped IMO, we haven't been great and had a bit of luck, but we have had games where we had no luck earlier in the season. Since the turnaround we've gone from 5 points in 8 to 8 points in 5. From now on we are playing once a week, let's hope that gives a chance to improve on the fitness and injuries as well as getting some solid training in to address some of the issues.

I think jose, simply by his presence, as given us something we were lacking and taken men from opposition defence. I've said before and still belive, he's got to adjust to the pace of the prem being so much faster, closer and colder! That Spain. I think he'll improve immensely as he comes to terms and befriends the team. I'm quite confident in him, by far the better option than fabio.

I agree with you Abbeywolf I feel more settled with Jose as CF than Fabio and I presume the team does too we were lacking confidence without Raul now we have Neto and Jose starting to look like Jota and Raul

If Jose could start chalking up some goals himself then we will be marching.
