Just seeing pictures of chorley 's pitch this morning and thinking when would our continental lads have ever played on a muddy patchy grassed field like it. Worried that we might be caught by passes not going expected distances and given their open ground not far from the coast and a swirling wind it might all prove to be a leveller. Its not going to be a walk in the park and they'll be more up for it than us. If the worst should happen I hope things like this are born in mind before people jump on nunos back. However we should have enough to see ourelves through and Nuno seems to beaware ( did he really say we'd got pictures of the pitch, wwfc drone busy) ), only thing now apart from Ruddy, who plays?

Abbeywolf.
Agree pitch a concern. It will be a leveler and will obviously suit their style of play. Having said that, a top class professional football player should be better on any surface than an average semi pro player. So no excuses. Injuries are my main concern.

I suppose it will be middle of Feb before we see Willian Jose by the time he's settled in and been isolated for 10 days.

Agree sharesum, but I remember playing, many years ago, on the best ground in our local league and we had 2 Spanish guys signed and they moaned about the length of we thought was perfectly cut grass. Its the unexpected bobble or sway that catches out. But your right we should rise above them in skill. Do you think he'll go with the younguns, he's set hell put out strongest team, whatever that means.

Regarding the pitch I'm kinda thinking it being a frost this morning and the bitterly cold wind the pitch may likely stay firm enough not to be a mud bath.

Is there an inspection at 1730?

We have a Italian striker by the name of Cutrone who has played on a few bad pitches in Italy might be the perfect game for him to give Nuno something to think about and bang in a few goals.
