Scott Sellars appointed as Technical Director according to the clubs Website. Looks like Thelwell is being missed!

That's ONE positive move at least because I did feel with Shi in the job it was he driving the purchases and not Nuno.
There was no Nuno stamp on a few of the signings we made close season, Silva the most obvious.
The sooner we get a Laurie Dalrymple type back too the better for me.
Positive move Wolves, well done.

I do not think that we should buy Vitiha/ Nouri, I believe the cost will be £20 mil each. I would buy Niles/ Eriksen who I think we can get for £35 mil the pair, we have to many youngsters who are not up to premier standard just look at our bench and the first team. it is ok to say they are for the future but if we are not careful we will go down and what will happen to them then. I hope we can beat the Baggies or I dread to think the reaction to Nuno after the match.

Nouri, vitinha, are our future, along with hoever, Neto
I would go for eriksen, deffo,
To lose to the baggies is unthinkable, that game is our catapult, to FA cup success, and powering up the league.

Bazza-£35m for the pair behave! Arsenal wanted £25m alone for Niles last time round and if reports are anything to go by they wanted most of it upfront! That's before you add to the fact both would be expecting six figure salaries! I said it before my complaints about Fosun aren't necessarily blame, I think they are stuck in the realities of financially balancing the maintanince of the team along with progression. It's why they've gone for youth, now we can (and do) all debate the possible side effects of that model but I think this whole 'lost interest' line is just to easy. You don't get the portfolio that Fosun have by losing interest in projects, I think they've just hit a brick wall and have tried to be a bit too clever with the fix. We might of gotten away with say two out of Silva, Rayan or Vittinha. If a seasoned Pro had come in at CD to support Raul or Cm to cover Moutinho. I think it's the having to do it all at once that's caused the results. That's how I see it anyway 👍.

Bazza, Greyleg and Bully - From a football perspective in 2021/ 2 and possibly beyond Niles and Ericksen are better and safer options than the 2 boys we have on loan (Although Ericksen is, at 28 much older and hasn't performed well for a while now. )
I also think that the fees wouldn't be that much different - I think Bully is correct in that your pair would be a bit more than 35 but probably not much more than 40-45 still v comparable with the 40 for two, as yet still unproven prospects.
However Bully is def correct about wages which will be much higher - Ericksen's in particular.
But most importantly neither would come - Niles wouldn't come when we were looking like a much better bet than Arsenal so he def won't want to come now we are on the verge of a relegation battle - even if he isn't getting much game time at Arsenal and Ericksen is probably looking for Champions league teams or Europa at the very worst.
Bazza however I also agree with you, in that at this point, it is v hard to justify £40m for 2 kids who are currently not looking like they are worth the money when we have such obvious and pressing needs elsewhere for those funds.
So whilst I would have loved us to have signed Ericksen and possibly Niles sadly it didn't happen before and is even likely to happen now.

Bully - good analysis of issue. Injuries, the need to " progress" and develop for the future all within the constraints of FFP have unfortunately meant the route that we went down was - with the benefit of hindsight - high risk and that risk has blown up in our faces.
Vitnha is a gamble that may, if he is ever played, come off. RAN with Marcal signed, (and Otto due to return later on in the season), might have looked an unnecessary gamble but with both now injured it wasn't (as we thought we were selling Vinagre and buying RAN for less it may also have been seen as a no brainer - sadly the sale of Vinagre wasn't a no brainer just a no! ) and Silva - well enough has been said.
2 more experienced Pros as stated before would have de-risked the strategy. However to finance them the "Jewel in the crown" of the strategy would have had to been foregone and the club wasn't willing to lose its diamond to buy those pros.
