I'm a relatively new supporter of wolves (13 months) in Australia. And have read this site a bit over the past year.

I'm excited by the where we could possibly take Fabio Silva, even it's just a profit investment towards bigger things. But agree he's not ready yet. He gets to good positions but hasn't got the finishing touch (or confidence) . Cutrone; I didn't see much of. Is he a short term answer?

I've read reports about putting an offer in for Andy Delort, but don't know much about him. 8 goals, 6 assists in Ligue 1. Could be a good option?

Welcome James.
I've got a feeling, and it's my own view, and nothing to do with the C.V., or recent results, and I hope I'm wrong, and will probably get slated for saying it, I think Nuno and his staff will be gone come next season, or before, things don't seem right at moment, something's going on. Like I said I hope not, anyone thinking along same lines,
Coyw.

No slating from me Greyleg, you're entitled to your opinion. Sincerely hope you're wrong mind. I believe Nuno, in a state of pique, is dealing with the cards he was dealt, ie: Silva, seems obvious- to me anyway- Nuno's fingerprints where not near that transaction, so he's sending a message to Shi or whomever sanctioned it, this is what I have to use. Remember, Silva only ever played 12 games I think, with one goal. Contrast his start to likes of Wayne Rooney's first game, at a younger age, you knew he was special; nothing I see with Silva compares. So, age does not count, but ability does. Just my opinion.

Cheers mate, we have got some good young talent, but you know, success these days needs to be quickly met,
Two or three years on these youngsters will be established, I'm sure, guess we will have to be patient, 😮, for now, all this posting
With are thoughts, is brilliant,
Everyone on here are sound,
And the beauty of it is, we have different ideas/ thoughts, which leads to great banter, especially with postmates/ pals/ friends
Keep them coming.

Welcome James, greylag I totally agree Nunos shows some form of discomfort at the moment, one expression I noticed the other night i'd not seen before. The question is is it the injury problems, cv and its uncertainty for the season and questions of recruitment or is it fosun pulling the pounds and not giving him what he wants, or indeed has his dream worn out. I'd like to think its injuries and trying to get the best out of stand in and filling players. I don't think we deserved most defeats and a lack of concentration/ effort by some must gall him. I hope a win on sat will lift the mood (not just because its them) . And nuno will stay. The expression came after another of samedos errors by the way.

Think that Fosun are disinclined to give Nuno any more transfer funds, as Uncle Jorge seems intent on peddling him to Arsenal. Worrying times! Am already stressed about Saturday FWAW.

Welcome James
Belfast v good post.
Greyleg sadly tend to agree with you. Hope Nuno stays but something is wrong. From such a strong position at end of last year to where we are today is a spectacular foul up.
Sadly as I have said numerous times (both at the time and since) it is all down to the wasted money and opportunity last summer. (That failed to achieve what Nuno clearly asked for - a more balanced squad - which would at the very least have allowed us to ride out the spate of injuries we have suffered)
Even Semedo, who is hugely improved from the opening weeks of thr season and looks perfectly capable of playing RWB BUT NOT RB was massively overpriced (cf Hoever and Doherty at different ends of career) and is hugely over paid. The wage bill has gone through the roof this year with Silva and Semedo both on multi million pound contracts and other players consequently rebased upwards.
Some of the youngsters will develop Hoever, Owen maybe others but given the high option fees on Vitor and RAN it is possible that we will decide we cant/ won't afford them and they won't be here next year. As for the other chap I'm far from certain he will get much better and def don't think he will ever be worth the transfer fee and wages paid.

Welcome James.
Only time for rapid quick post
I am too very anxious about the match Saturday.
FWAW.

No slating from me greylegwolf mate I can understand why you would think that but I think Nuno is here until at least the end of his contract.

I made these assumptions way back in August but was heavily criticised for them, so I accept your later later analysis Greyleg. Saturday at best will be, I think, a draw.

I've said many times on here over the past few months that Nuno's not happy. I suspect it's the chaotic, ilogical way fosun have operated in the transfer marker that is behind it. We've been trying to get a backup to raul for the past 3 windows and have failed miserably. Our team is presently weaker than last season despite all the money spent. As I've said last week and someone mentioned it above, it seems like he's trying to make a point to fosun with regard to the ever changing line up and in particular playing Fabio every game. He will know that Fabio is not even remotely ready for prem football and probably never will be.
Anyway, let's hope we get some of the walking wounded back soon and get the 40 points for safety.

To be honest Nuno does look down in the dumps in his interviews lately which is not like him, win or lose he is usually very positive, hopefully he will see out his contract and get us back on track. With injured players returning and a striker if only a journeyman coming in this window. For next season we need to strengthen the spine of the team with experienced players, our lack of goals is a major concern even before the injury to Jimenez. We looked more potent when Jota was partnering Jimenez it took some of the pressure off him and they fed well off each other, maybe another striker Jimenez would work, at least give us some mot goals. Maybe a 5-3-2 formation?

Good post Taff, we have struggled for goals since Jota left. Which considering he didn't score that many says a lot, the thing was even though he was very erratic for us he was always a danger as well. Defences can double up on Raul these days, that will change with time. Neto, Podence and Traore need to score more it's that simple really. I think they will with time (the first two anyway) not sure finishing will ever be Adamas best quality but (for me) we still look better with him playing some role 👍.
