Dear Phil
Many thanks for your post and happy new year to you.
I have deliberately withdrawn from posting these last few days as to use a colloquialism a number of the posters on this and the various other sites I read have “done my head in”
I know it is all a mater of opinion and we all have different views and that we all think we are the rationale and fair one and people who disagree are either deluded “happy clappers” or “non-fan” “doom-mongers” depending on which side of your view they sit but I do think a number of posters have lost their sense of balance.
I accept that I am a natural bear who is easily demoralised by downturns in our fortunes but don’t we need to recognise in equal parts the fantastic progress made by the club over the past few years and the role Nuno has played in this as well as sadly the horrific and obvious errors made this year. {I actually want Wolves to win every game and get everything right {surely so should every Wolves fan} and therefore don’t object to posters who are a critical friend- to steal a phrase from business- and complain when things are obviously done badly and indeed have done so myself more than once this year! Who for example is carrying the can I wonder for the debacle of the transfer window last summer- which I’m proud to say I called at the time? )
But what has taken me over the edge is the juxtaposition of posts on Fabio Silva, who is seemingly being regarded by many as the second coming, a cross between A Shearer and T Henry and posts on Adama Traore that are so negative as to take my breath away.
I watch the games and see the contributions made by each player and whilst I accept that we all see things differently in the last few weeks my view has been so different from so many posters it has made me question my sanity.
I would have thought that the sadly continued underperformance of young Fabio and the strong performances by Traore over the last few matches would change people’s minds but amazingly it doesn’t appear to be the case!
Since I have no idea how to communicate with these posters, who see things so differently from me, I thought it best for my mental health not to try and have consequently withdrawn temporarily from posting.
Sorry.

Hi Thefutureisoldgold sorry to hear your head done in with posters on here and on other sites.
I for one love your posts and opinions, they are never nasty or vindictive to other fans.
So always will miss you not posting.
I think with our bad run of results some fans go too far with their criticism of nuno and of certain players which I can see doesn't make good reading. So I see exactly what you are saying.
Re Traore he played his best game for a long time against Brighton imo.
Me personally have been frustrated by him in certain games but I know there is a world beater in there it's just finding the solution that brings that out, so there is a lot of hope for us with Traore.
Maybe there is reasons why Traore hasn't been playing as well as he can that we are not aware of.
The future for wolves is still very promising albeit we are having a dodgy patch.
All the best mate (my windscreen has defrosted now lol)
FWAW.

Phil - you remember when you told me that you loved the wildlife stuff well my son has asked me to go to Zambia with him on safari this summer - C.V. dependent. All I've got to do is get a job and earn the 3 and bit grand its going to cost!
Bit of a plan and something of a step up from the trip to Devon I have planned with the wife!

Wow!
That's fantastic mate really chuffed for you, I hope you can get the funds together.
I bet you are so proud to have a son like that.
It must be amazing seeing all the wild animals.
I have to put a joke on because I'm happy. 😃
I have a heart of a lion and a lifetime ban from Chester zoo ha ha.

Should be exciting - 9 days safari, one day trip to Victoria falls and a couple of days in Dubai on way home. Pricey but I've got 6 months to sort things out. Just need this virus to end so that I can pick something up.
Son is a keen photographer and loves his wildlife. We were always going to zoos/ safari parks when he was a kid - including Chester - but this should eclipse all of them!
Are you still buzzing?
ps Been to Goldstone (a few times) and Amex - saw Van Parra score in 1-1 in Championship season. I always love an away game there is a great atmosphere and wins are super special!
PPS Really appreciate you bothering to ask after me.

{Ed001's Note - a couple of days in Dubai? Which area are you thinking of staying? There is a mangrove forest and wildlife reserve in Deira, if your son is into wildlife. One piece of advice, avoid staying in a beachside hotel, all the non-beachside ones have free buses that run to the beach hotel they are linked with where you can use the facilities but they are much cheaper to stay in.}

Great advice, tks. Son is sorting everything - he went to the gulf a couple of years ago to see the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and loved it - so will pass on advice. I have never been and think the plan is to do 1 night - hotels actually seem incredibly cheap and he has mentioned JBR Arrive from Zambia early hours of morning - having flown over night. Desert safari, (think it is not a real safari but a commercial event in the dunes but cheap and apparently fun) on first day then water park and aquarium on day 2 before flying out that night, Will be exhausted!
Will def tell him re Mangroves though as it sounds great - maybe add a day?
Appreciate.

{Ed001's Note - no worries mate, if you need any more help just ask, I live out here and have a few friends who are tour guides who will gladly help you out. Hotels are very cheap at the moment, Emirates Airlines are offering a deal for one night free with flights from some destinations.

JBR is ok, but there are loads of similar places, from Al Seef to La Mer, depending on which area you are in. The desert safari everyone loves. Depends on which water park and aquarium, I would assume that means the one at Atlantis. If you go when the footie players are on holiday there is usually a few of them staying there and in the water park.

One thing I can highly recommend, especially if your son loves animals, is meeting the penguins in Mall of the Emirates. I took my daughter and she loved it. It is the only place in the world you can hug and kiss a penguin. You can also swim in the aquarium in both Dubai Mall and Atlantis, if your lad wants some good pics with sharks etc. The aquarium at Dubai Mall is well worth seeing, I go there a lot just to watch the fish and it is right by Burj Khalifa if you intend to go up there.}

Hi Thefutureisoldgold I'm winding down now but still feel sound.
I had some stuff to sort out after work all is good.
It's always good to have a friendly chat something always good will come out of it.
Stay safe and fingers crossed the c. v. gets under control.

WOW! Great stuff. Is the Penguin encounter in a shopping mall? He did the King Croc experience when he was there and is talking about doing Croc caging in Zambia ( no way am I doing that! ) .
If you don't mind will def pick your brains nearer time.
What do your friends do - the tour guides - are there many walking tours - I didn't think there would be much to see?
We, ( wife and i) always do walking tours wherever we go even did one in Norwich this year!
ps watching your Liverpool on Sky - have Salah in fantasy team and no Saints so hoping for big win for your guys ( would like Saints to score though as I have no liv defs and most of my rivals in league do! )

{Ed001's Note - yeah the penguins are in Mall of the Emirates, in the ski centre.

The tour guides do all different types of tours and arrange things like going for a meal in the Burj Al Arab or stuff like that. There is more to do here than you could see in months. My parents come out for a month every year, usually, and we go out every day and they still haven't seen hardly any of the place. They add new stuff all the time. It does depend on the time of year you come out, as the summer months outdoor stuff is mostly shut down. During the colder weather, you have the Miracle Gardens, Global Village etc. There are walking tours around Downtown Dubai, and segway ones too.

There is the horse track, the camel track, the motor racing circuit, cricket stadium and tennis stadium plus a few football stadiums if you are here when there are events on for them, they are very cheap. In fact the tennis tournament is free entry and one side of the stadium is a giant Irish bar/restaurant made to look like an Irish village, the other side is all clubs, pubs and restaurants. So you can sit in there and watch the tennis in comfort. If you avoid tourist traps, food here is particularly cheap to eat out.

I wish I hadn't watched the game. I had to keep pausing it to run to the toilet, so only just finished watching. I regret pausing it now!!}

Tks for all the info will def tell son to look into what we are going to do and how many days we should stay
ps sorry re Pool. I was v lucky though Adams didn't play and I had Soucek 11 points on bench!
