Anyone else feel we are becoming a bit of a nursery club for Liverpool. First Jota and next in line is Traore.

I don't think we are becoming a nursery for pool but I do feel Adamas agent is trying to gently persuade him Liverpool is the go to club to sign for.

We have to buy and sell players, Cheadle. That’s the way it works. Got no problem with moving players on and better coming in but still not sure Nuno is the best manager to do this.

Adama Traore, get rid, toxic, take the money he'll fail elsewhere. Nuno made him. if he doesn't appreciate that then get him out of the dressing room.

Traore seems to be holding out for a better contract than has been offered. I would let him go, both Podence and Neto are far better options. He, s a one trick pony, can be exciting for a few minutes but he is generally sussed out by the other teams now. Take the money and run.

i agree lupine, if their heart isn't at the club then let them go, loyalty like our bully had isn't there much these days, all about money now, like you say there is better at the club.

Welcome Nelly
I was a huge fan of AT last year but he has gone backwards quite markedly this year.
Don't know why but unless it changes and sharpish he will have to go and it will be a major failure for us.
Like Jota is now doing, he will re emerge BUT he won't remerge as Jota is doing as a good Prem player but sadly as a great Prem player potentially great full stop!
What ever we get for him it won't be enough.
Wolves, as BullyB correctly noted when I referenced Fernandes, simply can't sign a (world class) replacement player no matter what the fee.
This is because at present we simply aren't recognised as being worthy!?
So whatever the problem is we need to work hard (er) to solve it and if eventually he does go we will need to buy a lot better than we did this summer as this year's match day squad (not a theoretical one in 2 or 3 years time! ) will be dangerously thin!

cheers thefutureisgold, I quite agree mate, work needs doing and doing right, I have confidence in the owners and the staff although I think the £35m should have been spent on a proven goal scorer tbh, fabio silva looks a good young player and will develop into a better one but I think we need the right players now if we are to progress.

Nelly - Re last summer it is not just the fact that we spent virtually everything on players for the (potential) future who might well turn out to be brilliant in 2 or 3 years time - Hoever, Vitor, RAN and Silva.
Rather than ready to play players like Marcal but, and in the short term more importantly, we didn't solve any of the problems we obviously - well the ones I identified in a thread before the season started about the August transfer window anyway, had.
[Note I am not sure how you categorize Semedo as he (expensively) was bought to attempt solve a problem {He has actually looked quite promising over the last couple of weeks but is still nowhere near the level of the player we let leave but perhaps he will get there given time} we had simply created ourselves by giving the incumbent RWB away. ]
As you say we didn't buy a ready to play cover/ assistant to Jimenez - and at the moment it looks like one is desperately needed - with Silva only being trusted with a handful of minutes even though we aren't scoring!
We didn't buy the replacement for Moutinho even though it was obvious that his legs were going ( he is after all in his mid 30s! )
Vitor the player some felt was the replacement not even trusted to be on the bench.
Finally we didn't buy a ready to play attacking LWB. Marcal is ready to play but not attacking and sadly RAN is attacking but doesn't appear to be ready to play.
I also commented that a RCB would be useful as all of our CBs are left sided including amazingly now Kilman.
But Boly is still doing a solid job there so its not a major issue cf the other 3
In my post I suggested selling Jota, Saiss and Moutinho to (part) finance the incomings sadly only Jota was sold and although Saiss started the season well he is now on the bench as is Moutinho {Subject to Dendonker's injury} and both will be worth less now than they were in August.
Indeed I would not be surprised to see Moutinho either retire or be given a free back to Portugal next summer.
So at the end of the Transfer window on a thread about how well we did when everyone else was saying it was brilliant I was the miserable git giving it a 4 out of 10
With hindsight I was generous!
However get Traore firing again and we have nothing to worry about - Podence and Neto are developing v well and the rest of the side is still strong apart from the WBs, {LWB looks a major problem and RWB is not quite there yet but close }- so we should be absolutely fine.
But this year with a better summer fine could have been seriously challenging - its just such a shame
Maybe in 3 years time Hoever, Silva, RAN and Semedo will be picking up medals for Wolves title winning season and then my mark for the summer of 2020 will have to be adjusted to an 11!

good post mate, Nuno will have everything in hand i'm sure, we have a decent squad but 1 or 2 more good signings will be needed I think whether its january or next summer, time will tell I suppose, but all said and done its COME ON ME BABBIES!

Thefutureisoldgold
I posted above about an u23 gem then scrolled down to your post.
With vitor not making the squad (which I had forgotten about) there doesn't seem to be much chance of an u23 coming through and being a gem.
It seems to be a waiting game and I think with how this year with c. v. has blown us all away its worked out that we signed players for the future.
I'm sure I have read somewhere when we finally leave the EU (brexit) it's going to be extremely difficult for English clubs to sign young and upand coming players. If I have read correctly maybe this was in mind in our last transfer window.
I believe we may or may not finish in a good league position but definitely feel our worst is better than 4or5 teams best
Thefutureisoldgold I'm off out again today just a local wander this lockdown no problem in the week as I'm grafting in the dungeon in brum lol but yesterday was tough.
Stay safe and nice to reading your thoughts nelly along with the rest of us.
FWAW.

Phil - it rained all day yesterday and is wet now so have been stuck in all weekend!
With the IPL ended I have been "reduced" to reading and am ploughing through the Ken Follet Kingsbridge trilogy ( made into a TV series a few years back) but at well over 3,000 pages its a long long read!
Fingers crossed for a dry week for those of us at home and delighted that you are still working. C.V. has meant that many - including my 2 eldest = have seen their hours reduced or wiped out entirely!
