Personally think we need 2 wing backs that are better than Doherty and jonny. not that there bad players. I just think they have hit there limits. and for us to break into top 6 we need faster wing backs. with more quality. also a centre back. and a box to box goalscoring centre midfielder. i'd say 4 players.

Coven, if you want to be really pedantic, what we really need is 4 more goals this season as Spurs finish ahead of us on goal difference.

Wing backs join attack and. many times this season we seem slow in those areas. also Jonny has to stop to get the ball onto his right foot. there crossing isn't the best either and with jiminez waiting in the box is a bit of a waste.

Good comment Coven wolf, if we are serious about getting in top 4 we do need 3 to 4 players, that's not to say we are a bad side, it's just that we need to improve in defence, midfield and attack, performances of late have been a bit negative and predictable.

Ruben Vinagre is an ideal replacement for Jonny on the left flank. He is more attacking but needs to cut out all the stepovers. Don't know about an alternative to Doherty as the only one with better stats is TAA and he ain't leaving Liverpool any time soon.

I sort of think that if Doherty had a fancy Latin name and we had signed him from Barcelona academy for zillions, that people might rate him more for the same performances.
How about calling him Matthias Dohertini?

Most of the players we have have been well bought, and then improved by Nuno. Buying better players than we have will cost, and there are not too many available, or attracted to a non CL club. It would be big change to start bringing in big names.

Wimbornewolf, I may be being over optimistic here but we are still in the Europa League and if we win it, we'll be in the CL.
I personally think Wolves are waiting till our status is confirmed before any incoming players are revealed.

I personally think Vinagre will end up playing as a left sided forward in a couple of seasons. I think the lad has a lot of potential.
I'd prefer to see another central striker because let's face it, the rest of the forwards are more winger than striker. One more centre half is a must - Saiss is a walking yellow card and Boly is better on the left of the three.
