Seen what Adamas agent said. would love if he stays. but if not 120m please. we can buy 3 top players with that. he's that fast it doesn't matter if he's not the best finisher . he's scares the other team 2 weeks prior to the fixture even taking place uptw let's get back at it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Becoming increasingly apparent that Project restart is not going to happen. Peoples lives are more important than football but as a side thought the prospect of Villa being allowed to stay up and Albion given promotion fills me with total disdain for the game overall. I would say the same for giving Liverpool the title. Nothing more than a hollow victory.

Suspend the season until March 2021 and pick up where we've left off. Government and sponsors should come to an agreement to suspend sponsorships. Write next season off and only continue this season, next March when the govt and health officials say everything is ok and fans can attend. Somehow, I don't think the clubs like Villa, Watford, Brighton and West Ham will want to wait that long but the long and short of it is football can only return when safe to do so.

09 May 2020 15:45:22
I'm not sure how that's realistic, how can you bring teams up if your not going to relegate any? The teams in Europe already don't have enough time for the fixtures we have so can't see the FA just adding a few more for whenever the next season begins?!

How do you know it will be safe to start next March Jas?
Football was suspended when no one had the virus and now thousands have the virus they are considering the options. A bad winter flu season and we could be in a worse state than we are now.

I'm not saying we will definitely be 100% over this virus. The point I'm making is that at the moment, none of the clubs can seem to agree on a way forward. I can see no point in playing out the season if there is no relegation. Why risk players lives simply to satisfy a contract with a sponsor. At the moment some clubs are saying it's unfair to play at neutral grounds and behind closed doors as it gives a disadvantage. So my suggestion is play when it is safe and we pick up where we left off so no one has any complaints. With regards to next March, all the info coming out at the moment is a anti virus should be made, tested and available from the end of the year.

If this season does finish by August and next season begins in earnest, fans won't be allowed in the grounds anyway so why not wait until we've been given the all clear.

For those advocating suspending rest of season, and starting afresh (whenever) would they also want teams, players, all to stay at present clubs, no buying/ selling anyone? because those teams struggling near bottom with money to spend would have big advantage on others. Just a thought. Stay safe guys.

{Ed002's Note - There is no option to suspend the season.}

10 May 2020 11:09:03
Ed, I know there is no option to suspend the season. But I find it ridiculous that teams are saying they'll be disadvantaged by not being allowed to play at home with fans but would have to play the first half of next season with no fans and think that's fair. We either find a safe way to conclude this season or abandon it.

{Ed002's Note - The season cannot be simply abandoned - there needs to be agreement on how to conclude it, award European places etc..}

10 May 2020 11:19:59
3 Brighton players testing positive may change that option Ed.

{Ed002's Note - Let me be very clear - there is no option that the season can be suspended and restarted in a years time - clubs cannot afford it.}

10 May 2020 11:24:49
By the way, guys, don't think I made clear I meant starting as we left off, same points earned, sane players. Thanks ed.

{Ed002's Note - Not an option at all.}

10 May 2020 13:37:03
Ed, it's suspended at the moment.

{Ed002's Note - And once more let me be very clear as you are far, far away from grasping teh situation - there is no option that the season can be suspended and restarted in a years time - clubs cannot afford it.}

10 May 2020 15:07:36
I just don't understand why clubs think having no fans for the rest of this season is a disadvantage but when they have no fans next season it ain't.

11 May 2020 12:39:52
If the majority of clubs in the bottom half of the table don't want relegation if the season is finished behind closed doors or at neutral grounds, then what is the actual point of putting the players and officials at risk if there is no definitive outcome. Just abandon the season and decide who is awarded what.

{Ed002's Note - It is not as simple as that.}

11 May 2020 13:13:53
They will award places in Europe by balls in a lottery cage.
Playing the season after contracts expire at neutral sites is just as illegitimate as abandoning the season and playing next year with 23 teams in the Premier League and all of the leagues below get three from the league immediately below it.
How the Championship decides which 3 is up to them.
Rock, Paper, Scissors, perhaps.

{Ed002's Note - Why bother when you clearly know nothing?}

11 May 2020 15:20:55
Hopefully, more information will be made available after today's meeting. Has anyone read the Jamie Carragher piece in relation to this? He makes a good point about why clubs are looking at different options.

{Ed002's Note - There will not be much coming from today. From what little I know right now: No vote on neutral grounds - it is being suggested that the reluctance to have a vote on the neutral venues will see some clubs look to use it to end the season as there is no end in sight. The confirmed start for next season has been "set as" the previously suggested September 12.; It has been argued that the UEFA July 31 end date can be shifted as to allow PL to continue if the clubs involved in CL and PL agree. But this is all whatif stuff.; the view of players needs to be considered; the significant list of concerns raised by medical staff at clubs needs to be addressed - ideally before a meeting on Thursday; discussion on returning to training and then transitioning to training without social distancing.}

Nothing is set in stone regarding football deadlines, no matter what relegation threatened teams may like to claim. The season should resume and play to completion if and when it is safe to do so. Next season, ditto. The football authorities were quick enough to give the World Cup to Qatar and at the same time agree to play it in Winter as Qatar would be too bloody hot in summer, therefore interfering with football seasons in Europe.
