Official VAR rule : " if the ball deflects off an opponent or teammate and it's deemed impossible for the player to move their arm or hand in time, a handball WON'T be given". I knew VAR would be a joke, and especially when Jon Moss is the VAR ref. He doesn't even know the rules!

Annoying that was but they are saying this is a new rule and it's no goal nothing we can do

I thought we would struggle today but we did ok Leicester will be disappointed though.

Completely agree what a joke we were playing against 12 anyway with that ref and then VAR this will ruin the game for everyone I'm afraid!
But a point is a point and we was well organised we should have won with the few chances we had just some wrong decisions.
But I would have taken a point at the beginning.
Come on you wolves 💛🖤🐺.

Rule also states that a goal resulting from an accidental handball is disallowed. Rules being made to justify VAR. Methinks.
The game is being ruined.

Not to mention that ref is a word that rhymes with banker anyway.

Officials don't know the rules, goals ruled out for big toe nails offside and ball brushing off someone's shirt. Fans cheering madly for a " no goal" ( and don't get me wrong, we will be the same! ), it's all wrong! The powers that be seem to be striving for nil nil every match. All the fun is being sucked out of the game. Tragic.

The VAR rule that TettenhallToad has spelled out clearly makes out 2 different standards of handball depending on what happens at the end of the move. That makes a mockery of the game. Either it's handball or it isn't, you either stop the game for the offence regardless of where on the pitch it happens not just because it goes in the net!

Presumably if, after the ball hits Boly, Dendonckers shot was cleared off the line for a corner and we'd have scored off that corner, the goal would have stood. It makes a complete joke of the rules. Well done Premier League!

That’s exactly how the new law works in a nutshell it’s just disappointing no common sense can be used in these situations as it was clear there was no way he could get out the way.

But Ollie, my problem is there will be no consistency. You will see far more blatant handball "goals" given this season. Probably more so for the "Big" 6!. If the rule is made clear ( and it's not at the moment) and it's applied in the same way to every team then I can suck it up. But it won't be will it?

Your issue is a general one, Toad, that applies whatever the rules happen to be. Hopefully VAR will make it harder for refs to favour the top 6. However I agree with Statto that if there's an infringement for any reason then it's a free kick. It shouldn't matter whether the ball is heading for goal or not. The rule is poorly thought out. Dendoncker could have played a different shot if he realised he couldn't score from that touch by Boly.

But these are the rules all teams have to play to this season.
