Morning All

Thought I would entertain you all with a few players that have caught my eye at the Euro's that perhaps, just perhaps could fit into our future plans. As always, just my thoughts, nothing more.

1. Yarmachuk (Ukraine) Big, strong, commanding in the box, holds the ball up well and feeds/ brings wide players into the game. For me, a player in virtually the same mould as Raul. Doubt they could play together, but would be great cover, but, he wouldn't sign for us as cover.

2. Embolo (Switzerland) Only a bench warmer for his club Gladbach, but a marauding ball carrier and very quick. Worth a look to replace Traore.

3. Forsberg (Sweden) A goalscoring, attacking midfielder with a good eye for a pass. Interesting.

4. Palinho (Portugal) Aggresive, commanding and a good range of pass. Heavily linked with us all summer and I liked what I saw. Big problem is, his performances will have put £5m on the fee and alerted other clubs to his talents. i'm hoping that perhaps the deal is already done. I hope so. I think he could be very well suited to the Prem.

5.Spinazzola (Italy) Just thought I would chuck in an unrealistic one! Lol. For me, one of the stand out players of the tournament so far. Aware, technically solid and can play the WB role brilliantly. I like this lad a lot.

I'm not a massive fan of signing players from tournaments just because they have had one or two decent games. Tournament football is such a different animal. But these are just one or two players that have caught my eye.

What i'm hoping, is that all the players that we want have been identified and that we are working on deals as I type! Lol.

As always,

I’d go for gilmour loan from Chelsea just what we need.

2.) 30 Jun 2021 11:34:29
Nice list there Devoted mate, same players that have caught my eye too.

Isak Sweden forward I would love us to sign him he has really impressed me and my god he would be a excellent choice if was available for transfer.

Good Morning All

Hope that you are all well and enjoying the Euro's.
So as we all know, we are entering 'silly season', where we get linked with all and sundry. Here are a couple of my thoughts, I don't mean to be argumentative, just my thoughts.

Departures.

Patricio - Great keeper. But, I do feel he has a tendency to get beaten at his near post, 33 yrs old earning 100k a week, I would sell with right offer, but if he stays, i'm fine with that as well.
Neves - I think Neves has gone a little stale at Wolves. But I do think he has gone stale due to the tactics played by Nuno. I personally think that he wants to move on. But what a player he has been for us, who would have thought when M and M were running the club that we would ever see a player like Neves in a Gold shirt. If and when he does go, thank you Ruben. Its been a blast.
Moutinho - I have mixed feelings about this one. On one hand, 100k a week for a plyer approaching 35! But. Make no bones about it. Mout is the BEST PLAYER I HAVE EVER SEEN IN A WOLVES SHIRT. By a country mile. And, with Neves going, I wonder if an older head might be needed in and around that midfield if we are bringing new players in. Oh, and while i'm on. Surely he must already be a candidate to be the next manager of our club.
Traore - For me, this is the one we keep. Get the contract sorted. He is a game changer and his pace scares EVERY defender in the Prem to death. We ALL get frustrated with him. I know that. but if we are going to a more attacking free flowing style then he could be a major player for us.

Arrivals.

Of course this is just pure speculation. But of all the names being bandied about, these are the players that I would be happy to see come in -

Sa
Tarkowski
Paulinha
Kang Li
Guedes
Vinicius

Of course this is just my wish list. But if we lost ALL the players that I mention above, then I think these would be suitable replacements.

Anyway, just my thoughts. As always, I look forward to seeing any replies.

Like it mate. Can't argue with that.
Let's see what happens. As you said silly season. 😀.

2.) 23 Jun 2021 14:33:19
No arguments from me devoted, whatever happens the guys that leave have been tremendous for us and we owe them our position now and the great memories. It's sad when things break up as they have but as I said before it was all getting abit stale and we certainly going to get some fresh air. Good luck to all that leave and thank you. To Bruno and anyone joining us good luck too and we'll be right behind you.

3.) 23 Jun 2021 16:52:19
Hi devoted not much I can add as I think the same as you greyleg and Abbey.

I trust in fosun shi and now the new manager Lage.

All I see is fosun doing the best they can to make us a top club in the country.

I believe fosun know what they are doing and are smart.

I get fans frustrations but all we can do is wait and see.

Every wolves fan I am the same a wolves a fan and always on your side.

We find out tonight who we play in the round of 16.
A nice goal by england I thought it took a 19 year kid to have the confidence to break ranks and take his man on which ultimately led to our goal.

4.) 23 Jun 2021 17:32:44
Only one thing for me, we CANNOT let Neves leave.
Absolutely correct last season's tactics messed him up.
We have to build a team around him, we shouldn't be thinking about letting him or Traore go.

5.) 23 Jun 2021 17:35:13
I watching Slovakia v spain.
Wow I have never seen an own goal like that before.
Lol I'm sure we won't be buying the slovakian goalie.

I was kinda thinking/ hoping it would remain goal less and the spanish manager brings on Traore with 15/ 20 minutes to go.

Hi All.
Hope you are all well.
I am the only one here that is seeing some kind of pattern emerging here with Nuno. Firstly, he loses his job with us, reportedly because of his demands going forward. Then he loses out on the Palace job, due to his unrealistic demands, then low and behold, Rafa seems to have stepped in for the Everton post. Just a thought, but i'm wondering if perhaps Nuno has gone a bit Billy Big Time! It seems like that from where I am sitting. Just think that this may well have been the right time to part ways.

Onwards and forwards.

Interesting thought Devoted. I have much respect for Nuno in all that he achieved for us, and the way he handled himself, but something was wrong last season, and I doubt if we will ever get to the bottom of that.

2.) 18 Jun 2021 15:49:39
I was having similar thoughts about Nuno, Wolves, Spurs, Arsenal, Palace and now Everton, all seem to move on from him for some reason.

Morning All

Well its been a massive few days for the club. whichever camp you lie in, the fact of the matter is that Nuno has gone, no one man is bigger than Wolverhampton Wanderers, yes, we all loved him, yes he will always sadly missed and most importantly for me, he left with his reputation intact and his head held high. Good luck my friend in wherever you go next. You will ALWAYS be welcome at Wolves.
But.
Guys we have to move on. We all know that this is a monumental decision that the board are about to make. I hope that they don't rush into it, I hope they speak to a range of managers that declare an interest, whether in a job currently or not. I hope, that they listen to the people in the club with football knowledge, by that I mean Scott Sellers not Jorge Mendes. Will the new man be a Mendes client? Yes, I guess it will be. But he does have 2 or 3 good managers on his books at the moment who are not in work. If it were me, and it is going to be a Mendes client this is my order of preference -

Conceicao
Fonseca
Lage

I have absolutely no interest in Labouchi. And we shouldn't either.

Of the others, if he declares an interest, I would speak to Steven Gerrard, but we know where he wants/ will end up. So that would only be short to medium term. We need to speak to Lampard, there is a good manager in Lampard, if Wolves is the right job i'm not sure. And I have sneaky feeling he might end up down the road. And finally, we should speak to Benitez. I know that isn't universally popular, but, he will attract players, he would make us solid and most importantly, he is likely to keep us away from a relegation battle next season, which I know, deep down, many of us are fearing.
And, of course, there will be other names that we need to speak to that aren't being bandied about at the moment.
Just my thoughts on things, I know that my opinions won't be everyones cup of tea. But I look forward to hearing what you guys think.

Great post Devoted. i'd agree with all of it. I've been banging on about Lampard for months. He'd certainly offer a greater goal threat in the last 10 minutes than our current midfielders too :) .

Benitez will keep us up even with a system change. A good early appointment and a productive pre-season should be the catalyst to have a real go at one or both of the cups.

Get them in as early as possible and whoever it is make sure you have it in writing the promised war chest.

2.) 26 May 2021 09:37:41
Thank you Devoted - good read.
I agree this is a huge decision and should def not rushed.
If you read any of my posts you know I am a huge bear and thus a manager who can keep us safe rather than a gamble would be my short term desire. However I still do want the promised land in the not too distant future - old and torn you see - so a manager who can progress us as well please! Not a lot to ask for eh? I thought we had that in Nuno lat summer but it all went pear shaped for some reason.
A manager who can give us clout in the market, respected.
A manager that players will want to come and play for.
A manger with good links in the game who can get us access to young and established talent - either on loan or to buy (rather than just Mnedes clients)
Frankly if he plays good stuff that is a pure bonus - unlike my son the Chelsea fan I will take 38 1-0 s with a huge smile!
In fact forget everything just give us a Winner!

3.) 26 May 2021 09:49:41
Good points Devoted. Your opinions are my cup of tea. The names you mention are all quite viable I believe. Rafa has a Champions League win on his CV and a very decent record at Liverpool. Lampard and Gerrard are the epitome of up and coming young coaches. However I think Wolves will go Portuguese by default, and if so I think Bruno Lage is the man. I can imagine the Wolves fans chanting Bruno, Bruno, all round the Mol. Not much different to Nuno, Nuno.?

4.) 26 May 2021 10:54:46
I tend to agree with the other posters so far, The issue I have with Lampard and Gerrard is that I suspect their hearts are elsewhere as Lampard clearly demonstrated when he took the Chelsea job whilst managing a team 30 miles up yhe road from Wolverhsmpton, which makes me ask would the same happen if say West Ham came calling. Both are up and coming but I would also argue Bruno is, he has that first blip on his record but was otherwise successful at Benfica for one season and would culturally fit in with the very international Latin based working environment which seems at tbe moment to be the prominent dressing room culture at WW FC. All of the names mentioned are realistic but if we want an up and coming manager who could be deemed a safe pair of hands in terms of Prem safety campaigns I would certainly interview Eddie Howe, if and only if he showed an interest, however I suspect he may want to stay down South. As all posters have said let's not rush this and get it right.

5.) 26 May 2021 12:02:11
Think we need to try and stop the exodus, which, if you believe rumours is coming,
Neves, Neto, podence, Patricio, moutinho,
That's as well as Jose,
Were going to need to sign 10 players at this rate, if true 😮😮😮😮😮.

6.) 26 May 2021 12:12:40
Well no ones buying Neto, unless they are taking him on a stretcher?! As for Podence if we can get most of what we spent I'd take there hand off, unlikely for an injury prone player. With Particio and Moutinho I would be sad to see either go but with their age let's be honest it now or next summer! As for Jose does anyone ACTUALLY think we'll miss him?! Reckon I've got a vase that could stand in and no one would notice, except that maybe the vase is more mobile! 🤣
You can say exodus I say clear out, make no mistake the club are in the driving seat in all this. The key is weather or not the car still works at the end, dream a dream and it might even go faster! 👍🐺.

7.) 26 May 2021 13:03:05
Bullys Boy could I also add if we could get a decent price for Adama and a very good price for Neves I would seriously consider doing business. However this is contingent on the new manager getting better players in. I think Neves has been dissapointing but could be much better with different players around him.

8.) 26 May 2021 13:46:02
Think Neves has suffered since the Championship days, we have become more and more defensive and I don’t think it suits him. Think Arddunby is right get some forward thinking manager and players.

9.) 26 May 2021 14:21:48
Indeed Norfolk the more I think about it the more I think tinkering with the squad is not going to work it needs a radical overhaul, if its not done this summer we will be doing the job as a championship side next summer (which may happen even if we do the overhaul I hasten to add, its a gamble) . In that scenario any assets sold will be at firesale prices and also include the players we want to hold on to.

10.) 26 May 2021 14:37:07
Great posts guys! Isn't it fun to speculate we know from over the last 4 years reality is we know very little and with a bit of luck one of us might have a lucky guess! Fosun always seem to be able to keep what they are doing private. I have to give them credit for that because we usually surprised at who they get. I think it will be the same this time we'll know when it happens and not before probably. So I guess we are in for a summer of surprises like last year, who saw that coming or what's happened so far though to be fair Nuno has not looked himself for a while and perhaps we should have seen it coming. I just thought he'd have a break come back make a few changes and off we'd go again. What did I know eh! Let's hope we get a good manager/ coach and he gets support. A centre back and a midfield player as a minimum but maybe some surprises hopefully more depth to the squad. They must know it's what we need. Here's hoping onward and upwards and not downwards hopefully. COYW!

Good Morning All.
Im new to this site. I have followed it for a while but thought it time to join in. I AM a Wolves supporter, so don't doubt me. And I have been all my life, my first game was back in the mid 70's, 75 I think, when my Dad took me to an FA Cup 4th Round replay v Ipswich a 1-0 win with Bobby Gould floating in a cross from the left, dropped over the keeper and in. That was it. I was hooked, Gold blood, from that day to this. And until I depart this mortal coil!
Anyway, what about now.
Firstly, the purchase of the club by a world conglomerate was a dream come true. For ALL of us. In my opinion, it was impossible to continue on the steep upward curve, there had to be levelling out season and in my opinion the key in that levelling out season was to NOT go down. We haven't and if this is that season, it is NOW that we have to push on. NOW that we will see what Fosun are all about and NOW that we find out there ambitions for the club.
Im going to stop here, almost! I have one last thing to say, I read, as we all do, that Nuno has taken us as far as he can, that he is ready to move to a bigger club to fulfil his ambitions. I would like to throw a different view into this, perhaps, just perhaps, its the other way around, have Wolves taken Nuno as far as his capabilities will go. Is it Wolves that are ready to move onto bigger and better things? Listen, that is just a thought. No one, more than me, wants to see Nuno take us to the next level, give him the money, give him the players that he wants within reason and let's see if we can move forward and upwards, the fella is a god in this city to ALL of us. BUT somewhere deep within, I have this nagging doubt.
Anyway, good to meet you all. let's hope for something a bit better tonight. its been dire now for way to long.

Morning Devoted welcome to the site.
I have the same pretty much train of thought as you.
It's going to be an interesting and exciting summer transfer window.
I think this season shows 45 points with 2 games to go we are going to be better next season. But the premier league is the toughest league in the world so I enjoy the thrill of it as it's so great to see us wolves competing with the best.
FWAW.

2.) 19 May 2021 10:33:42
Welcome sir.
Interesting view on Nuno and certainly I hear others say that his style of v conservative football is limited and limiting but it didn't do Mourinho any harm and Touchel seems to be playing a v similar style at Chelea. Maybe the few extra billions they have had at their disposal over the last decade or so is the answer?
Re this season again I think what you are saying is a widely held belief. I was far more positive and felt that we could have continued on an upward slope, (pre injury crisis of course), with just a few judicous tweaks rather than the haul it down and start again we seemed at one point determined to do. Survival then of course was all we could hope for.
The building back up is however going to be another thing and it has been scary reading some of the more cogent and considered posters on here who normally are relatively positive being so negative about our prospects for next year.
Again I am more positive but fear it will be v hard given the injuries and FFP ( and let's be honest the fact that Wolves is seemingly not an attractive place to cone - wages? style of play? Location - its not London is it? )
We need to get some of the injured players back, desperately need to keep Traore, revert to the 3 4 3 that has served us so well and suits the physical and footballing abilities of the squad (neither RAN or Semedo are FBs but are WBS, Coady is great in a 3 but average in a 4, Neves and Moutinho/ Dendonker are good siting in front of a 3 but either don't have the legs (Moutinho/ Neves) or seemingly the creativity (Dendonker) to play as a 10 in am more open style etc etc ) then buy at least 2 new first team members and possibly as many as 4 or 5 ready to play battle hardened pros as competent squad players (if the injured aren't coming back any time soon) or 2 or 3 if they are.
