Who is the greatest player of all time?
For me, it's Maradona followed by Pele then George Best.
I was having a debate at work with people younger than me who think Cristiano and Messi are the best ever.
I then asked them the following and got these answers.
Greatest Barcelona player? Johan Cruyff
Greatest Argentinian? Maradona
So how could Messi be the greatest player when he isn't considered the best at either his club or country.
Man Utd greatest: Best or Charlton
Real Madrid: Di Stefano
Juventus: Platini or Del Piero
Portugal: Cristiano
Again, how can he be the best when there at least 5 players regarded better than him at club level?

Maradona wouldn't feature anywhere near my top twenty. For me it is Best and Pele-can't split them. Followed by Greaves, Law, Charlton and Beckenbauer. Chuck in Gerd Muller for good measure-possibly Platini.
All subjective and generational

Always considered Pele and Best as my top two players however Messi can’t be dismissed in this debate. Cruyff and Zidane would also be mentioned but Maradona no thank you.

Maradona might have been one of the biggest plonkers of all time but you're having a laugh or blind if he's not in anyone's top three! Messi and Ronaldo just have to be up there along with Ted Farmer obviously.

Ah, I remember 'Uncle Joe Wilson" in the 1960's. Plotting along the left, I think he was a left back if I remember correctly.

It's always subjective. Different eras, different pitches, different contact rules on tackling and different levels of fitness. Maybe not the best in the world but Brazilian Ronaldo should be worth a shout.
