We already knew about MR Dean
The FA have confirmed that Premier League referees Martin Atkinson, Mike Dean and Jon Moss will all retire at the end of the season.

Good riddance because these three have been awful this season. However the problem doesn't just lie with them; the standard of officiating across the board in the Premier League has been nothing short of abysmal.

They even parachuted a 'Prem' team of officials for the Bournemouth v Forest game in the Championship and they were absolutely clueless and screwed Forest over with their decisions when they could have still pipped Bournemouth to an automatic promotion place.

We’re not rid of “all about me” Mike Dean, he’s going to be retained as a VAR - we’ll still get his awful decisions, but at least we won’t see his over elaborate actions when issuing of cards.

And there lies the problems with the abysmal reffing Debbie, VAR. Let them ref on the field, let linespersons lift their flags as and when they see it. Mistakes have always taken place and always will but in my book a third 'interested' party shouldn't need to interject. Nuno got it right, fans shouldn't be applauding decisions from distant monitor observers.

Abbey chuck VAR in the bin as I've said many times! Has it made football better? NO! Removed spontaneity completely. Celebrate 3 minutes after a goal, ridiculous! Football is a game of errors let's leave it like that!

ESPN have just published this 'league table' of how teams have fared with VAR overturns. This seems up to date as of the Chelsea v Wolves match last week. Not surprisingly, we have suffered more than most:

West Ham +5
Liverpool +4
Southampton +3
Watford +3
Brentford +2
Arsenal +2
Brighton and Hove Albion +2
Manchester City +2
Chelsea +1
Aston Villa 0
Crystal Palace 0
Leeds 0
Tottenham Hotspur 0
Everton -2
Manchester United -2
Newcastle -2
Wolves -2
Burnley -4
Leicester City -6
Norwich -6

Jon Moss gave Man. City three points with the ludicrous penalty he gave them when the ball hit Moutinho in the ribs. Totally biased to the so called big boys.

Plus when City were unable to break Wolves down he sent Jiminez off, after that with City still struggling he gave the penalty which finally gave them the points. VAR said they didn't have a clear view of the penalty incident but BBC had a clear view so did all the papers. Makes you think, doesn't it?

Difference between 8th and 10th is about 3 to 4 million though.
